Less than 9 weeks to go and no closer to picking a name!

[name]Hi[/name] there me and my partner are due our little bundle of joy on the 11th of [name]November[/name] and we still cannot decide on a name. Our list seems to be getting bigger instead of smaller. Babies second name will be Low and middle name [name]Elizabeth[/name] for a little girl and [name]Martin[/name] for a little boy so here are the names we have so far:-

[name]Kade[/name] or [name]Cade[/name]
[name]Cailean[/name] (K AI l ih n)
[name]Nathan[/name] or [name]Nate[/name]

[name]Aviana[/name] (ay-vee-ahn-ah)
[name]Ava[/name] (too common)
Ayda or [name]Ada[/name] (diff spellings)
[name]Aoibheann[/name] (ae-v-ee-n)
Rayen (Means “flower” in Mapuche.)
[name]Halle[/name] or [name]Hallie[/name]
[name]Liah[/name] or [name]Lia[/name]

So now you see how hard this is as there are too many to chose! Any help would be really appreciated so we can at least narrow it down a bit.

Thanks k x x

[name]Hope[/name] that helped!

[name]Darcy[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low!!

I think its a great name and I have not (as far as I know . . . ) had any problems being viewed as unprofessional because of the name.

[name]Nathan[/name] or [name]Nate[/name]

These are the boy names that I liked most with [name]Martin[/name] and Low. You had many names ending in -n on your list, such as [name]Aiden[/name], which really don’t sound ideal with [name]Martin[/name] - [name]Aiden[/name] [name]Martin[/name]? Not so good. Also, you had a lot of L names or names ending with an L sound, such as [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Riley[/name]. [name]Leo[/name] Low isn’t so good, nor is [name]Riley[/name] Low. So, this is what I’m left with - [name]Jude[/name], [name]Lukas[/name], [name]Theo[/name], [name]Nathan[/name], and [name]Ollie[/name].

If I were you, I’d use [name]Lukas[/name] [name]Martin[/name] Low if you want a name off your list, as [name]Jude[/name] [name]Martin[/name], though handsome, is a bit short with Low. I would recommend using [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Martin[/name] Low, [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Martin[/name] Low, or [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Martin[/name] Low and calling your son [name]Theo[/name], [name]Nathan[/name] ([name]Nate[/name]), or [name]Ollie[/name], respectively. I think any of those would serve you well!

These are my favorites off your girls’ list with the last name Low and the middle name [name]Elizabeth[/name]. You had many names ending in -a (like [name]Ava[/name]) that don’t sound as good, flow-wise with [name]Elizabeth[/name] as a middle name. Back-to-back vowel sounds can be tricky to say, as in [name]Ada[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. You also had some names that “rhyme” with Low, as in [name]Leonie[/name] and [name]Rowan[/name]. [name]Rowan[/name] Low? Not ideal. So, here is what I’m left with - [name]Imogen[/name], [name]Hayden[/name], [name]Darcy[/name], and [name]Reagan[/name].

[name]Even[/name] though [name]Darcy[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low has a fun sound, I think the name might be a bit too ‘Pride and Prejudice,’ what with [name]Darcy[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name] being the two main characters. [name]Hayden[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low sounds lovely, as does [name]Reagan[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low, so really it is just a personal preference. [name]Both[/name] are nice in my opinion, though [name]Hayden[/name] does have more of a unisex feel than [name]Reagan[/name]. [name]Imogen[/name] is the only vintage name left on my small list for you, and [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low is a bit of a mouthful - if you’re open to it, I’d use [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] Low, and I think that’s beautiful. I think I’d choose a more vintage name, like [name]Imogen[/name], considering I liked the more vintage names on your boys’ list best, too.

Good luck!

[name]Lemon[/name]

my favorites from your list:

Thank you for taking the time to reply I really appreciate this! it is helping us loads! We are now going through the list scoring off some names with your comments in mind.

I am from [name]Scotland[/name] so a few of the names are quite scottich or irish.

If anyone else wants to comment which is their favourite that would be great we will get this list down to a few boys and a few girls names in time for [name]Baby[/name] Low’s arrival on the 11th of Nov.

Thank everyone!

I like [name]Cade[/name], [name]Leo[/name], [name]Jude[/name], [name]Theo[/name], [name]Nathan[/name]/[name]Nate[/name], [name]Aarron[/name] (spelled [name]Aaron[/name]), and [name]Brodie[/name] (though I like [name]Brody[/name] better)
No real opinion on [name]Riley[/name], [name]Preston[/name], [name]Mason[/name], [name]Braden[/name], and [name]Aiden[/name]
[name]Do[/name] not care for [name]Kade[/name], [name]Cailean[/name], [name]Louis[/name], [name]Lukas[/name], [name]Jody[/name], [name]Luca[/name], [name]Ollie[/name], and [name]Dale[/name]

  1. [name]Cade[/name] [name]Martin[/name] Low – Nice flow all together, and I do love [name]Cade[/name], but not sure about [name]Cade[/name] Low.
  2. [name]Leo[/name] [name]Martin[/name] Low – [name]Leo[/name] Low???
  3. [name]Jude[/name] [name]Martin[/name] Low – I like it but [name]Jude[/name] Low is too [name]Jude[/name] [name]Law[/name].
  4. [name]Theo[/name] [name]Martin[/name] Low – [name]Theo[/name] Low is too rhymey?
  5. [name]Nathan[/name] [name]Martin[/name] Low called [name]Nate[/name] – This is my favorite taking flow and all into consideration. [name]Nathan[/name] Low sounds great, [name]Nate[/name] Low sounds good, [name]Nathan[/name] [name]Martin[/name] might be a bit -en, but it’s not bad at all.
  6. [name]Aarron[/name] [name]Martin[/name] Low – This is nice, but I can’t handle the extra r.
  7. [name]Brodie[/name] [name]Martin[/name] Low – [name]Brodie[/name] Low sounds very good. This is my number 2 choice.

Out of the names that I don’t have much opinion on the only one that I don’t like with Low is [name]Riley[/name]. I just don’t like [name]Riley[/name] Low ([name]Lilo[/name]!). The others all end in -en, same as [name]Martin[/name], which may or may not be a problem. [name]Mason[/name] [name]Martin[/name] is way too much, although I actually knew a lady once who named her son that.

I like [name]Ariana[/name], [name]Hope[/name], [name]Ada[/name], [name]Maisie[/name], [name]Ferne[/name] (why the extra e?), [name]Darcy[/name], [name]Leonie[/name], [name]Sophia[/name], [name]Addy[/name], [name]Lacey[/name], [name]Lia[/name], and [name]Aria[/name]
No opinion on [name]Aviana[/name], Ayda, [name]Aoife[/name], [name]Halle[/name], [name]Hallie[/name], [name]Rowan[/name], [name]Farrah[/name], [name]Georgia[/name], and [name]Darrah[/name].
[name]Do[/name] not care for [name]Alex[/name], [name]Imogen[/name], [name]Ava[/name], Caoife, [name]Aoibheann[/name], [name]Orla[/name], Rayen, [name]Hayden[/name], [name]Maisey[/name], [name]Casey[/name], [name]Cayley[/name], Farrow, [name]Faye[/name], [name]Fia[/name], [name]Liah[/name], [name]Raegan[/name], [name]Reagan[/name], [name]Amber[/name], [name]Harley[/name], and Bronagh.

  1. [name]Ariana[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low – Very pretty
  2. [name]Hope[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low – Sounds nice all together, but [name]Hope[/name] Low, sounds like the opposite of “[name]Dream[/name] Big”.
  3. [name]Ada[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low – Nice all together. But I’m not sure about [name]Ada[/name] Low…
  4. [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low – [name]Maisie[/name] Low… Cute!
  5. [name]Ferne[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low – [name]Ferne[/name] Low seems a bit abrupt
  6. [name]Darcy[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low – This is just so awesome! It is a bit P&P, but what’s wrong with that! One of the greatest works of lit of all time. I love it.
  7. [name]Leonie[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low – [name]Leonie[/name] Low? No
  8. [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low – Very pretty, although very popular.
  9. [name]Addy[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low – I don’t like the way [name]Addy[/name] Low sounds.
  10. [name]Lacey[/name] [name]ELizabeth[/name] Low – Nope to [name]Lacey[/name] Low
  11. [name]Lia[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low – Nope to [name]Lia[/name] Low
  12. [name]Aria[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] Low – [name]Aria[/name] Low is nice. This is sweet.

thanks! there definetly seems to be some front runners.

As many comments would be great  We will get the names down to a few boys and a few girls only 8 weeks to go
