I’m looking for retro names that are a bit obscure and different.
One name I have in mind is [name_f]Edwige[/name_f] (pronounced ed-veezh), inspired by the beautiful [name_u]French[/name_u]-Italian actress [name_f]Edwige[/name_f] Fenech who starred in many giallo movies in the 1970s.
I’ve also thought of: [name_f]Yvette[/name_f], [name_f]Brigitte[/name_f], Edmée, [name_f]Hermine[/name_f] (air-MEEN), [name_u]Pascale[/name_u].
Any suggestions welcome! They don’t have to be [name_u]French[/name_u]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] any (shorter) uncommon name that has a slightly clunky, retro vibe.
@Greyblue Thanks so much! [name_f]Zelie[/name_f] and [name_f]Thora[/name_f] are . [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] is so interesting too. I really like [name_f]Perrine[/name_f] and I think it fits with my list perfectly. There’s a cute old anime series called The [name_u]Story[/name_u] of [name_f]Perrine[/name_f], which is an adorable connection for me (as a lover of all things animated).
@hyacinthbucket It’s so cool that you love [name_f]Edwige[/name_f] too! It’s such an underrated name. [name_f]Zazie[/name_f], Nadège and [name_f]Mozelle[/name_f] are intriguing possibilities.
@Harvest-[name_u]Endellion[/name_u]: Thank you! I think [name_u]Romy[/name_u] and [name_f]Helene[/name_f] are great fits for my list. Romy reminds me of the actress Romy Schneider. I also really like [name_f]Kirrily[/name_f], [name_f]Lalage[/name_f] and [name_f]Zephirine[/name_f].
