I hate to say it after your beautiful post, but I am rather unfond of [name_m]Michael[/name_m]. [name_f][/name_f] With my synesthesia, [name_m]Michael[/name_m] is this weird orangey red color that I find rather unappealing, and I don’t love many of his nicknames… lately I’ve been admiring the ael ending of [name_m]Michael[/name_m], and how most biblical -el names are -iel like [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] and [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] and [name_m]Adriel[/name_m] (although [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] could be [name_m]Nathanael[/name_m] I suppose!). [name_f][/name_f] I am rather fond of [name_m]Misha[/name_m], though I prefer [name_m]Micah[/name_m], [name_f]Micaiah[/name_f], Mic(k), [name_f]Michalina[/name_f], etc., to [name_m]Michael[/name_m]. [name_f][/name_f] It’s also the name of my cousin, who is quite a bit older than me and always felt unapproachable, so maybe that has also contributed to my ambivalence to him? Of all the Michael’s I’ve known, there’s only one who left a truly good[name_f][/name_f] impression on me? [name_f][/name_f] Which isn’t to say that most are bad, just not overwhelmingly good so as to leave an impression, and the one I can think of went exclusively by Mic (Mick), so it feels odd to even think of him as [name_m]Michael[/name_m], though I knew he was.
[name_f][/name_f]I am very fond of the meaning, which is probably why I really like [name_m]Micah[/name_m] and Michalina/Michelina. [name_f][/name_f] But between my synesthesia and a lack of a good connection to a [name_m]Michael[/name_m] to make me love it… it’s just never been my favorite. [name_f][/name_f] I would take [name_m]Misha[/name_m], [name_m]Micah[/name_m], Michalina/Michelina, [name_m]Eliel[/name_m], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], or [name_m]Rafael[/name_m] over him any day. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]. Sorry! [name_f][/name_f] It is a lovely name objectively, and I have other names I feel the exact same way about.
