Recently, I have fallen in love with the name [name_f]Oceana[/name_f]. I can’t decide what pronunciation I like best, but I think I like oh-she-[name_f]ANNA[/name_f] and oh-she-[name_f]AHNA[/name_f] equally well. I love how the name sounds strong but feminine, sturdy but light. Also, I like the nn option of [name_u]Shea[/name_u]. I would appreciate feedback on what you all think of the name and what pronunciation you would use.
Also, I don’t know if I will ever be brave enough to use [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] as a first name, but I am trying to come up with combos using it as a first or middle. So far I have:
[name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_f]Tess[/name_f] [name_f]Oceana[/name_f]
It is difficult because I tend to like nature and word names, which do not go very well with [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] (besides [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], that is).
I think [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] or [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] would be nice, but [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is unfortunately not an option for me for personal reasons. Any ideas for names that would work similarly?
I like the oh-she-ahna pronunciation better. The name is beautiful, by the way.
[name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] rolls of the tongue nicely but are you fine with two word-y names? If so, it’s a good combo.
[name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u](instead of [name_f]Claire[/name_f])
[name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_f]Celine[/name_f]
[name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_f]Fay[/name_f] (I like the meaning - “ocean fairy”)
[name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_f]Mauve[/name_f]
[name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
And I really like how [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_u]Joyce[/name_u] sounds but I am pretty sure I am the only person who likes [name_u]Joyce[/name_u].
Ooh I like [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] and [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_f]Celine[/name_f]. I also like [name_f]Celine[/name_f] [name_f]Oceana[/name_f]. Beautiful!
And I like both pronunciations of [name_f]Oceana[/name_f]–the long “a” and the short “a”, with a slight preference for the long “a” (ahn-a).
I love the suggestion of [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_f]Celine[/name_f] - how gorgeous!!
Also, I like both the oh-she-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-na prn and oh-SHAH-nah
Thanks for the feedback so far! Oh, [name_f]Oceana[/name_f] [name_f]Celine[/name_f] is dreamy and beautiful. It isn’t really my style, but fun to say! What do you all think of [name_f]Esther[/name_f] [name_f]Oceana[/name_f]?
