Let's Talk Anna

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] :ribbon:
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] is one of those names I slightly go round in circles about; sometimes I think she’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard and the name of my future daughter, and sometimes I think she’s pretty but a bit of a generic filler name. I’d love to hear some [name_u]Berry[/name_u] opinions!

  1. Please be 100% honest: boring or not?
  2. What kind of imagery springs to mind for a little girl named [name_f]Anna[/name_f]? (Nothing like [name_u]Berry[/name_u] imagery to warm me up to a name)
  3. Combos! The three I’ve come up with are [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Maude[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Maude[/name_f] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], but I’m not sold on any of them. Any three middle combo ideas? Bonus pounts for including [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] or [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]!

I don’t think it’s boring at all! I love it. I also have a very positive association with it so that’s always nice. [name_f]My[/name_f] literal only complaint is the way some people pronounce the first syllable, I don’t know how to describe it but maybe it’s more nasally? When it’s pronounced like that I don’t like it as much. But it’s on my own list.

I agree; Anna can sound quite nasally in some accents. Generally, Anna’s a sunny, international name and classic as can be, but too neutral for me.

Anna’s a crowd winner, though, so if you choose it, I imagine you won’t get any negative reactions.

  3. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] is stunning!!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] realized I need to be somewhere rn, oops! I would love to give suggestions but don’t have time now :joy:

  1. I used to think it was boring but its grown on me a lot lately, probably because of my obsession with [name_f]Annie[/name_f] and most related names. I really appreciate the clean simplicity of it.
  2. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is lavender, pastel blue, sage green. Quiet and intelligent. [name_m]Reading[/name_m] classic literature under a willow tree with a bow in her hair.
  3. I like the flow of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Maude[/name_f] best.

  1. I don’t think it’s boring. [name_u]Strong[/name_u] but sweet, timeless but less – dusty, less ‘old-fashioned-having-a-comeback’ like [name_u]Anne[/name_u]
  2. For [name_f]Anna[/name_f], I get the following imagery: green and white gingham dresses, wildflower meadows, stacks of books, half-finished sketches and water colours, grassy hills
  3. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Maude[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] are wonderful! Some combos:

I love [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] and am planning on using it if I have another daughter. For me personally [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is a little dull but I love it as half of a double barrel name. Personally my favourite [name_f]Anna[/name_f] combos are [name_f]Analia[/name_f] and Ana-Beth. I love these but to me [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is slightly boring but this is just my opinion after knowing many Ana’s one of my friends is [name_f]Ana[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]. Which is also pretty :white_heart:

1.) I honestly think it is a tad boring. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite variation is [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f].
2.) [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is gingham and making patchwork quilts by the fireside; it’s the sound of simpler times.
3.)

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]
[name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Annelise[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] is a top name for me. Not boring at all. I’m not a two middle name person, so I don’t think I will comment on combos. If I had an [name_f]Anna[/name_f], I would be very tempted to call her [name_f]Anna[/name_f] Karenina!

I’m bias because I named my middle daughter [name_f]Anna[/name_f] but I think it’s beautiful! Some may find it simple, but I think that’s part of the charm! It’s warm and inviting yet elegant and chic. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter is 3 and we rarely meet other Anna’s. The nickname [name_f]Annie[/name_f] is also very sweet.
