My husband and I both love the name [name_m]Levi[/name_m], and took quite a while to reach a name we agree on. Well, we went to Thanksgiving dinner last night and realize my cousin’s son (named [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]) is being called [name_m]Eli[/name_m]. Is [name_m]Levi[/name_m] too similar to [name_m]Eli[/name_m]? If they were siblings I would think it’s too close, but for cousins?
For cousins, I would say it doesn’t matter. Go for [name_m]Levi[/name_m].
I agree that they might be too close for siblings, but I think they’re absolutely fine for cousins! Especially since [name_m]Eli[/name_m] is an [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]. There are lots of names in my family that rhyme/share the same sounds/etc. and it’s never been a problem.
Too close for siblings, but it’s fine for cousins.
Not too close for cousins-I adore [name_m]Levi[/name_m]!
Not for cousins, I don’t think. They might get mixed up a few times, but I have cousins that get mixed up and their names aren’t even similar so I think it’s inevitable LOL. [name_m]Levi[/name_m] is a great name!
If I understood your post correctly, it is your cousin that named his/her child [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] so not to close at all. I don’t think it’s too close even if the children are first cousins.
I agree with everyone else. It’s not too close for cousins at all.
It’s fine.
