My husband and I are expecting our second daughter in [name]May[/name] and are having a lot of trouble deciding on a name! We have a 13 month old daughter named [name]Liahna[/name] [name]Michelle[/name] and are trying to pick a unique, pretty name that fits in well with hers.
So far we like
[name]Maleah[/name]
Maylee
[name]Maelle[/name]
[name]Elle[/name] ([name]Ellie[/name]/[name]Ella[/name])…
[name]Saige[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name]
It is very important to me that we honor my grandma who passed away the day I found out I was pregnant with this baby’s name as well and my grandma’s Name was [name]Cheryl[/name] [name]Anne[/name]…but she HATED her name! So I am trying to find other ways to honor her (for example her favorite color was [name]Red[/name]…so we are considering [name]Scarlett[/name]…One of her favorite books was called “[name]Elli[/name]”, She loved Native American Names and Culture, [name]Anne[/name] means “[name]Grace[/name]” so we considered using that as a middle name…ect)
Any ideas???
Thank you in advance for any help!!!
[name]Hi[/name]! Here are some opinions on your name list:
[name]Maleah[/name] - Is this pronounced mah-[name]LEE[/name]-uh? I like the sound, but the spelling might prompt people to say mah-[name]LAY[/name]-uh. [name]Do[/name] you like the [name]Malia[/name] spelling. It seems easier to pronounce.
Maylee - This could be mis-heard as [name]Haley[/name] or [name]Kaylee[/name] (both more popular).
[name]Elle[/name] - I love this name! It’s so pretty and chic. I prefer it to [name]Ella[/name] (it’s less trendy) and [name]Ellie[/name] (it’s less nickname-y).
[name]Saige[/name] - This is nice; I like the [name]Sage[/name] spelling more.
[name]Gemma[/name] - This is such a cute name. It’s great on it’s own or as a nickname for [name]Jemima[/name] (if you’re brave enough to use [name]Jemima[/name], that is).
[name]Scarlett[/name] - This name has always reminded me of Miss [name]Scarlet[/name] from the board game Clue. It’s not my favorite.
In order, my favorites from your list are:
[name]Elle[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Saige[/name] (I like [name]Sage[/name] more, though.)
[name]Scarlett[/name]
Maylee
[name]Maleah[/name]
Some names you also might like are:
[name]Aviva[/name]

[name]Callista[/name]
[name]Calandra[/name]

[name]Eliana[/name] (nickname [name]Elle[/name] or [name]Ellie[/name], maybe?)
[name]Geneva[/name]
[name]Ivana[/name]
[name]Jacinthe[/name]
[name]Mariska[/name]
[name]Melisande[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Veronica[/name]
[name]Willow[/name]

[name]Zipporah[/name]
[name]Zahara[/name]
Good luck!
it’s funny, I’m having the opposite decision to make. Not pregnant yet, but if we ever have another little girl we want to name her [name]Liahna[/name]. We have one DD and her name is [name]Gabriella[/name]. So my suggestion would be [name]Gabriella[/name], and you can always give her the nn [name]Ella[/name] if you wanted to. I love the name ella but I think it’s way to trendy, as is the name [name]Ellie[/name]. So for us [name]Gabriella[/name] was the perfect compromise and it still has the ella in the name, yet it’s not as popular which I liked
