We just found out we are having a boy! we already have a 5 year old little girl named [name]Hollis[/name] and I need help with boy names! We’re thinking [name]Liam[/name], [name]Abe[/name], [name]Seamus[/name]… We need some suggestions, something that flows well with his big sister [name]Hollis[/name] and works with his middle name [name]John[/name] [name]Charles[/name] (after my Father, who passed away).
[name]Liam[/name] fits well although it has a slightly ‘over-used’ feel next to [name]Hollis[/name].
[name]Abe[/name] is cool but it’s a bit moldie-oldie next to the hip [name]Hollis[/name].
[name]Seamus[/name] is a great fit – quirky yet established.
Other ideas with [name]Hollis[/name]:
Aidric
[name]Amos[/name]
[name]Beckett[/name]
[name]Ciaran[/name]
[name]Cian[/name]
[name]Colm[/name]
[name]Flynn[/name]
[name]Grant[/name]
[name]Greyson[/name]
[name]Keir[/name]
[name]Lev[/name]
[name]Milo[/name]
[name]Rafe[/name]
[name]Rex[/name]
[name]Rhett[/name]
[name]Ross[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Rohan[/name]
[name]Vaughn[/name]
[name]Zane[/name]
I vote for [name]Abe[/name]. I think [name]Abe[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name] go well together, and [name]Seamus[/name] might be too much “S” with [name]Hollis[/name]. If the popularity of [name]Liam[/name] doesn’t bother you (love the name, but there are TONS here) than it might also work. But I think [name]Abe[/name] is cool in the same way [name]Hollis[/name] is.
Good luck!
I agree that [name]Seamus[/name] has the possibility of being too much “s” with [name]Hollis[/name] (which is adorable, btw!)
[name]Liam[/name] feels a bit too ordinary next to [name]Hollis[/name], so my vote goes to [name]Abe[/name].
here’s some more ideas: (sorry for repeats, didn’t look at the list really hard before I posted)
[name]Cormac[/name]
[name]Eamon[/name]
[name]Auden[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name]
[name]Dermot[/name]
[name]Dexter[/name] (I [name]Love[/name] this with [name]Hollis[/name]!)
[name]Wade[/name]
[name]Lennox[/name]
[name]Abner[/name] (could still use nn [name]Abe[/name])
[name]Lucian[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Lennon[/name]
[name]Maverick[/name]
[name]Nico[/name]
[name]Colby[/name]
[name]Monroe[/name]
[name]Remy[/name]
To go with [name]Hollis[/name], [name]Seamus[/name]. [name]Abe[/name] doesnt sound right with [name]Hollis[/name]. [name]Liam[/name] I can kind of see with [name]Hollis[/name], but [name]Seamus[/name] definitely sounds better.
I like [name]Liam[/name] with [name]Hollis[/name] I think they work great together.
I’m going to have to agree with others and say that [name]Seamus[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name] are heavy on the “s’”
Great suggestions so far!
Lets see [name]Hollis[/name] and
[name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Arden[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Camden[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Dorian[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Felix[/name] - okay okay it doesn’t end in an “s” but it may be too matchy. I kind of like them together though. Actually I like them a lot.
[name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Gage[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Garrett[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Jarrett[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Keaton[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Nolan[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Oren[/name]/[name]Oran[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Porter[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Ronin[/name]/[name]Ronan[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Teague[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Vega[/name]
I just love the name [name]Hollis[/name]. I picture a similarly surname-ish name for her brother, but one that’s also distinctive, offbeat (in a good way), and unexpected.
[name]Hollis[/name] and…
[name]Abbott[/name] (nn [name]Abe[/name])
[name]Abner[/name] (not a surname, but I can see it with [name]Hollis[/name], nn [name]Abe[/name])
[name]Arlo[/name] (ditto)
[name]Barnaby[/name] (nn [name]Abe[/name])
[name]Calloway[/name] (nn [name]Cal[/name])
[name]Cavanaugh[/name] (nn [name]Van[/name])
[name]Conrad[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] (Not so surname-ish, but I can see it with [name]Hollis[/name])
[name]Duncan[/name] (I admit that I think of the Dunkin’ Donuts chain, though)
[name]Donovan[/name] (nn [name]Van[/name])
[name]Everett[/name]
[name]Finnian[/name] ([name]Finn[/name]'s pretty popular, but I love it)
[name]Finnegan[/name] (gaining popularity)
[name]Franklin[/name]
[name]Fielder[/name]
[name]Maxfield[/name]
[name]Montgomery[/name]
[name]Milo[/name] (see [name]Dashiell[/name])
[name]Nickleby[/name]
[name]Nicholson[/name]
[name]Rafferty[/name] (see [name]Dashiell[/name])
[name]Redford[/name]
[name]Redmond[/name]
[name]Sullivan[/name]
[name]Truman[/name]
[name]Whittaker[/name]
[name]Willoughby[/name] (nn [name]Will[/name]…[name]May[/name] be too feminine, though)
[name]Wilson[/name]
I think that the longer first names sound better with [name]John[/name] [name]Charles[/name] (I’m sorry about your dad passing away), but I see that you like shorter last names.
If you’d like an Irish first name that’s not as popular as [name]Liam[/name]:
[name]Beckett[/name]
[name]Cormac[/name] (nn [name]Mac[/name])
[name]Callum[/name]
[name]Declan[/name]
[name]Grady[/name]
[name]Griffin[/name] (Welsh)
[name]Kellan[/name] (someone told me this is Irish)
[name]Phinean[/name]
[name]Quinlan[/name]
[name]Quilliam[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name] (unisex, though)
My apologies for repeats!
Good luck!
girl, if you don’t quit suggesting my favorite Irish names I’m gonna have to hurt you But seriously, you always come up with such great suggestions! I really like the suggestions of [name]Everett[/name], [name]Cavanaugh[/name], [name]Montgomery[/name], [name]Rafferty[/name], and [name]Sullivan[/name]. So if you could pretend [name]Beckett[/name], [name]Declan[/name], [name]Kelan[/name] ([name]Kellan[/name]), [name]Callum[/name], and [name]Grady[/name] don’t exist, I’d appreciate it hahaha…
and to the original poster, I actually don’t mind [name]Hollis[/name] and [name]Seamus[/name] together. Not a fan of [name]Abe[/name] though… I think I’ve seen [name]Selena[/name] too many times (her brother and dad’s names).
Great suggestions.
I don’t like [name]Abe[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name] together. I think [name]Hollis[/name] is modern and trendy and [name]Abe[/name] is old worldy.
[name]Adrian[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name]
[name]Patrick[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name]
[name]Connor[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name], I love this combo
[name]Aidan[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name], One of my favourite names but very popular
[name]Griffin[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name]
[name]Timothy[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name]
[name]Jacob[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name]
[name]Keaton[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name]
[name]Nash[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name]
[name]Weston[/name] and [name]Hollis[/name]
Thank you so much for the great suggestions! I love the name [name]Felix[/name], but my husband needs more convincing! He thinks of [name]Felix[/name] the [name]Cat[/name]. I think it works so well with [name]Hollis[/name].
[name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Jasper[/name]! [name]Hollis[/name] was going to be [name]Jasper[/name], if she was a boy of course! Still, my husband is not keen on it. His suggestions are [name]Eugene[/name], [name]Elijah[/name], [name]Kenneth[/name], [name]Timothy[/name] [name]Jr[/name]. (too may [name]Timmy[/name] [name]Jr[/name]'s in our family). We can’t seem to agree on anything…
Thank you all soooo much for the awesome suggestions! I can tell this is going to be ultra difficult to pick a name for our lil’ man!
