Lianna Amelie? Help please and thank you!

Help please! I’m open to new name suggestions, new spelling suggestions for the current name, and any thoughts or opinions.

If it’s a girl:
[name_f]Lianna[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]

[name_f]Lianna[/name_f];
pronounced [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-ahn-na

I fear it will be pronounced:
[name_u]Lee[/name_u]-an-na
[name_u]Lee[/name_u]-anne-na

It wouldn’t bother me if a stranger reading her name pronounced it this way but my concern is that friends and more so family will be pronouncing it the aforementioned way(s) even after they’ve been made aware if what it is.

I’m not totally sold. I think it’s really beautiful but it’s not screaming out at me. I feel like it is perhaps too ordinary or is perceived to be ordinary because of it’s association with [name_f]Leanne[/name_f] and the like.

I’m also putting Leianna ([name_m]Lay[/name_m]-ahn-na) up in the mix. Leianna is slightly more unique sounding to me but surprisingly, I like the sound of [name_f]Lianna[/name_f] better.

Sentimental Value:

[name_f]Lianna[/name_f] has the same meaning of [name_f]Eileen[/name_f], which was my grandmothers name. (side note my son [name_u]Jameson[/name_u], is named after my grandfather [name_u]James[/name_u], the husband of [name_f]Eileen[/name_f]) [name_f]Lianna[/name_f] also begins with L, as in [name_f]Linda[/name_f], who is the late Aunt of my hubby.

[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] means “hard worker” which is the obvious epitome of my mother for anyone who knows her. My mom will also be delivering this baby as she did my son. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] also has “mel” in it, like my mom, [name_f]Melanie[/name_f].

Other names in our (my) repertoire:

[name_f]Veda[/name_f]
[name_f]Zosia[/name_f] (zo-sha)

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]: out of running due to popularity
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]: out of running due to not wanting “addy” or “laidy” as a nickname
[name_f]Allegra[/name_f]: out of running due to the constant allergy commercials

So. What do you guys think? Am I being too picky? I don’t know what to do. I wish I felt sure on a name! Our last name is Klein, btw.

If we have a boy I really have no clue. There are many name I like but hubby says “no way.” The only name I currently like that I think I’ll have a chance with would be [name_m]Abel[/name_m] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] Klein.

Thank you all!!

Why not spell it [name_f]Liana[/name_f], which most people would say with the -ahna ending. When I see [name_f]Lianna[/name_f] I assume it is [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-anna.

[name_f]Liana[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Lianna[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is pretty and I think it’s awesome with all the significance the names have for you.

I like [name_f]Lianna[/name_f] a lot. I think it would just take one correction for people to get it right. My sister-in-law has a daughter who has an ambiguous pronunciation but father in law is the only one who still says it wrong  [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is lovely too. I think the ending of [name_f]Lianna[/name_f] kind of smooshes into and runs into [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] a bit, but as long as that doesn’t bother you it’s a nice name.

I actually really like [name_f]Veda[/name_f] and [name_f]Zosia[/name_f] (though they both might pose pronunciation problems too) but it sounds like [name_f]Lianna[/name_f] has a lot of significance to you, and I think that trumps everything. Good luck!

Yes, upon first reading her name people will be calling her [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-anne-na for the rest of her life, and changing the spelling will only further confuse people. In my opinion, you are better off naming her [name_f]Eileen[/name_f], which paired with [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is beautiful (to me , at least). I like how you are taking special care to honor those in your family, that is beautiful : )
