Ugh! I really can’t find a name I like enough to stick with. I came up with the poll for [name_f]Noa[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u] [name_u]River[/name_u], and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] ([name_u]Scout[/name_u]) but my husband can’t bear [name_f]Noa[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] so I guess that’s out. I like [name_u]June[/name_u] [name_u]River[/name_u] but not sold, and just realized I really don’t like the name [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] at all (though I do love [name_u]Scout[/name_u], just not enough to name my 3rd daughter that!)
Soooo, what about [name_f]Lida[/name_f]? Sisters would be [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], and [name_f]Lida[/name_f].
One kinda weird thing is that [name_f]Lida[/name_f] is the name of my hubby’s ex-girlfriend, but they dated over 15 years ago, and I’m not bothered by it. Too weird though?
First, I don’t think the connection with ex-girlfriend [name_f]Lida[/name_f] is that weird unless you still have shared acquaintances.
I don’t have a strong opinion on [name_f]Lida[/name_f], maybe because my name is very similar and it also seems to blend in with [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Lia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lena[/name_f] and all of those. I guess I prefer it spelled [name_f]Leda[/name_f], since that seems more classic, but then it has a somewhat problematic mythological connection.
I don’t think it’s too weird (though it would probably bother me).
Honestly, I don’t think [name_f]Lida[/name_f] fits well with [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. It’s short, but that seems ike all they have in common. [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] are both spunky, sweet, maybe a little tomboyish? [name_f]Lida[/name_f] feels very exotic next to them, and it’s not widely used (especially in this spelling).
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Piper[/name_u], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], [name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_f]Kylie[/name_f], [name_f]Maya[/name_f], or [name_f]Paige[/name_f]?
I think [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_u]June[/name_u] is my favorite, I think.
Also want to say I think you can easily use [name_u]Scout[/name_u] as a middle - [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Scout[/name_u] are adorable!
Personally, I really like the name [name_f]Lida[/name_f]. I think its cute and can really mature into a grown woman. But in your case, I would say no only because your second daughter is named [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. If that doesn’t bother you, I would totally go for it. [name_m]Just[/name_m] in case it does, here are some other suggestions that might fit with your other two girls:
I know these are quite a few, but I honestly think there are a lot of really cute names that could go with [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. Some great combos that sound nice include [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (PJ), [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f], etc. Like I said, if you really like [name_f]Lida[/name_f], then I say go for it. Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!
Thanks, I love [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_u]June[/name_u] with [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] & [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. [name_u]Piper[/name_u] is my sister’s name though and my hubby just isn’t thrilled about it.
I’m all over the board with this baby, really can’t decide. Only a few weeks left too. Wish there was a name that I was thrilled by!
[name_f]Lida[/name_f] would be pronounced LIE-duh, by the way…
I love the name [name_f]Lida[/name_f]! I have a daughter and we named her [name_f]Alida[/name_f], but call her [name_f]Lida[/name_f] all the time. I get compliments on her name and it suits her perfectly.
If your not bothered by it being the same as his ex. Go for it. I think it sounds great with your sibset.
I would assume it was pronounced [name_u]LEE[/name_u]-duh, not LIE-duh. It reminds me of [name_f]Liza[/name_f], but that feels too close to [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] actually feels brighter and more energetic to me, and I think it might go better with [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
All other information aside, blind-taste-test style, I do think [name_f]Lida[/name_f] is a pretty name, but that you might have to correct the pronunciation/spelling sometimes.
I do get some people who say [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-duh. But I just correct them and it’s not a big deal. I knew that would happen and had a conversation with my husband about pronouncing it that way. But it was the name of his great aunt and I couldn’t get him to budge. I’m glad he didn’t. I adore her name just as it is and we call her [name_f]Lida[/name_f] 90% of the time!
