Lietta or Lieta?

Opinions on both? I am thinking Lietta from [name_f]Giulietta[/name_f] and Lieta because it means happy in Italian (My native language is Italian). Which vibes do you get from both? Middles and combos? Sibsets? Thanks!

Are they pronounced differently?

Lietta is sort of sleek with a twist of sass and style.

Lieta feels slightly lighter with that uplifting vibe.

I’ll wait to hear on pronunciation, but for sibsets, I’m thinking:

[name_f]Della[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Taisie[/name_f] / [name_f]Tasia[/name_f]
[name_f]Fia[/name_f]
[name_f]Minna[/name_f]
Chesca
[name_f]Tansy[/name_f]
[name_m]Bastian[/name_m]
[name_m]Mauro[/name_m]
[name_m]Rico[/name_m]
[name_m]Tino[/name_m]

Bump

Lietta feels pretty, zippy and trendy, like Luella, Louetta, Rosetta and the other smooshes etc. This would be my pick because it seems more familiar and internationally accessible (pronunciation wise).

Lieta seems (to a non-Italian) more timeless (even old-fashioned/vintage) and less of a smoosh, more like a Leora, Anya sort of name - but probably not like this at all given it means glad/happy - maybe it’s the hip one of the two but from an outsider, it seems more well established to me.

Think they could go well with many of the names on your euro animé/academia thread.

If I put a side the meaning of this word in my language (a vulgar slang word ), and just go by the sound (so hard to do), it’s quite sleek and elegant. I prefer Lietta, but both are good.

Double t looks more feminine.

I like Lietta more, but dont [name_f]Italy[/name_f] has strict naming laws?
I like the sound, but maybe i prefer [name_f]Giulietta[/name_f] or [name_f]Lissy[/name_f] more

Not so strict (depends on how you see it), Lietta should be allowed anyways.

I think you articulated this really well. Lietta seems cool, and maybe slightly smooshy. Lieta seems more authentic. It’s like [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] vs [name_f]Luisa[/name_f] (even though that example they’re both well established).

I’d pick Lieta.
