TW: drunk driving causing death, foster care, …appendicitis?

[name_f]Madison[/name_f] is devastated, having wished for a sibling throughout her time in foster care. [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] especially loved [name_f]Harper[/name_f], and [name_f]Madison[/name_f] promises her daughter that she will know about her aunt and what a hero she was. [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and Lauren’s families attend Olivia’s funeral. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is especially upset, having been close with [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], as are the twins, who are now in middle school and enjoyed playing video games with [name_f]Olivia[/name_f].[name_f][/name_f] After a year of bad news, [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] surprises everyone by announcing that she is pregnant with twins! [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] also tells everyone that she just found out she has been accepted into her dream medical school.
[name_f][/name_f]2044: [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] gives birth to a boy and a girl! She names them [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f]2045: After suffering from extreme abdominal pain, [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] gets emergency surgery to remove his appendix. Fortunately, the surgery goes well, and [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] recovers soon after.
[name_f][/name_f]2046: With [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] halfway through med school, the twins starting high school and [name_m]Noah[/name_m] starting middle school, the family spends a month of the kids’ summer holidays on a cruise, travelling across Europe.

[name_f][/name_f]2048: [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] starts residency to become a surgeon. She starts dating a guy named [name_m]Beau[/name_m], one of her fellow residents. Now, much unlike when [name_f]Emily[/name_f] was their age, her children spent their teenage years pursuing passions, hanging out with friends and playing video games, so [name_f]Emily[/name_f] was nervous about whether this guy would treat her baby girl well, especially since not everyone was understanding towards Charlotte’s special needs. Luckily, [name_m]Beau[/name_m] is very caring, and he and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] are very supportive and loving towards each other. [name_f]Emily[/name_f] is relieved that her daughter has found a good man.
[name_f][/name_f]2049: With Emily’s younger kids all in high school and Lauren’s kids in elementary school, the sisters finally get to spend more time together after spending much of their adulthood in the chaos of work and parenting. They take long walks together and have deep conversations about life.

[name_f][/name_f]2052: [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] gets [name_f]Emily[/name_f] a bicycle for her birthday! [name_f]Emily[/name_f] enjoys riding it along the beach at dawn before work.
[name_f][/name_f]2053: [name_m]Mateo[/name_m] and [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] get into a massive argument after [name_m]Mateo[/name_m] misplaces a binder containing the kids’ birth certificates/passports/legal documents. [name_f]Lauren[/name_f], naturally, turns to [name_f]Emily[/name_f] for big sister advice, and [name_f]Emily[/name_f] reminds them that they are a team and that they should come up with a solution to the problem together instead of arguing. [name_m]Mateo[/name_m] and [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] make up and figure out how to reapply for the documents. [name_m]Noah[/name_m] graduates from high school, and [name_m]Beau[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] finish residency, becoming attending surgeons-oh, and [name_m]Beau[/name_m] proposes to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]!
[name_f][/name_f]2054: [name_m]Beau[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] have a small courthouse wedding with just their intimate families-which [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] and [name_f]Emily[/name_f] don’t argue with, considering what they themselves did [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] graduate from university! [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] becomes a reporter, and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] accomplishes Olivia’s dreams of becoming a video game developer!
[name_f][/name_f]2055: [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] comes out as lesbian! Everyone is very supportive of her, especially [name_m]Henry[/name_m], who helps her work on her outfit for the pride parade in town.
[name_f][/name_f]2056: [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] and [name_f]Emily[/name_f] are having trouble paying the bills due to a lull in Ethan’s business. They make the difficult decision to sell the house their children grew up in and downsize to a small bungalow in a quieter part of town.

[name_m]Noah[/name_m] graduates from university with a degree in Psychology!

[name_f][/name_f]2059: [name_f]Emily[/name_f] discovers an effective drug for cancer and has it named after her! After finishing his master’s, [name_m]Noah[/name_m] becomes a social worker.
[name_f][/name_f]2060: [name_f]Remember[/name_f] the game [name_m]Henry[/name_m] was working on? Well, it’s a massive success! He spends some of his newfound wealth on installing a plaque in town to commemorate Olivia’s heroic deeds and her part in inspiring him to make video games.
