Like the Look, Not the Sound?

What are some names you like the look of (i.e. like when written out, names that please you aesthetically) but you don’t particularly like as a name?

For me, I’d say probably [name_m]Abel[/name_m] and [name_f]Sonya[/name_f]. I think [name_m]Abel[/name_m] looks so handsome, and I love the springiness and playfulness of [name_f]Sonya[/name_f], but I don’t love the sounds of the names all that much

I don’t really have many, but [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] / [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] would be the exact opposite! I love the name but when it is spelled with a “ph” I think it needs an “f” and when spelled with an “f” I think it needs a “ph”.

[name_u]Mallory[/name_u] and [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], I love how they look on paper but said out loud it’s unpleasant to my ears.

Hmm, I’d say I like the sound less than I like the look of these:

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f]
[name_m]Lysander[/name_m]
[name_f]Pomeline[/name_f]

[name_f]Elysia[/name_f], [name_f]Aislinn[/name_f].

Esp. because I first came across [name_f]Aislinn[/name_f] (in written form) as a kid, and in my head was mispronouncing it with an “ay” sound at the start like [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] that ay sound, but can’t find enough names I love which have it!

[name_f]Astraea[/name_f]! It looks so pretty but as @LeafTree said recently it just sounds like ‘straya as in Australia

Aurora. I love the way this name looks, but no matter in which accent someone says it out loud, it always sounds off. And personally I also find it difficult to pronounce, especially in English.

I want love it, but I always think ‘ash tray’. I’ve always enjoyed the look of ‘ae’ for some reason.

My husband said the exact same!

Aurora! I don’t find it difficult to pronounce, I just don’t love how it sounds

Also Isolde. It’s so pretty written out but I can’t love it because of the sounds.

Cecily!
I love the look & thought it was pronounced “seh see lee” (like Cecilia without the A) for the longest time. Slowly coming around to the usual pronunciation.

EU names! I love how they look but not how they sound. E.g [name_m]Eugene[/name_m], [name_f]Euphemia[/name_f], [name_f]Eudora[/name_f].
