Liking Juliette today...

DH and I have been mulling over our name picks, we’re pretty sure what our boy pick will be, but girls are getting tough for us. Today we like [name]Juliette[/name]. We were debating between [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Juliette[/name], but with [name]Cora[/name] as the middle name, [name]Juliet[/name] seemed too short. What do you think? [name]Juliette[/name] [name]Cora[/name]?

I always preferred the French aspect to [name]Juliette[/name], but I like the look of the simple [name]Juliet[/name] more. I think it’d be less of a hassle to live with, too (although I would love to see both [name]Cora[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] or [name]Cora[/name] [name]Juliette[/name]! Is [name]Cora[/name] set as the MN?). I don’t think [name]Juliet[/name] is too short with [name]Cora[/name] as a MN–[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Cora[/name] looks more balanced to me than [name]Juliette[/name] [name]Cora[/name]. Besides, with my French history, I am more inclined to punch the last syllable of [name]Juliette[/name]–so it flows a bit more awkwardly than [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Cora[/name] does to me.

Good luck!

Personally I prefer the look of [name]Juliette[/name]. It looks beautiful with [name]Cora[/name].

I agree with ashthedreamer. The French spelling changes the pronunciation a bit for me, and thus makes it a bit awkward with [name]Cora[/name]. Between the two, I’d pick [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Cora[/name].

I agree with ash and krismichelle, [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Cora[/name] sounds nicer.
Any chance you consider [name]Cora[/name]'s variations? I think [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Coralie[/name] is so pretty.

I prefer the spelling [name]Juliette[/name] but either way [name]Juliette[/name]/[name]Juliet[/name] they are both lovely names.

Chances are, when you tell someone your daughter’s name is [name]Juliette[/name], they’re probably going to spell it [name]Juliet[/name], every time. I love [name]Juliet[/name], especially for the Joo sound, but personally, [name]Juliette[/name] [name]Cora[/name] sounds awkward. [name]Cora[/name] [name]Juliette[/name] flows so much better. Either way, she’ll have a beautiful meaning to her name: youthful maiden/heart; (some places it says [name]Cora[/name] means heart, others say it means maiden).

Yes, I agree with most others that [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Cora[/name] is the winning combination. [name]Juliette[/name] is just a bit much and will be harder to live with than the classic [name]Juliet[/name].
Good luck!

I prefer the simple spelling of [name]Juliet[/name]–however, I don’t like it with [name]Cora[/name]. I like the suggestion of [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Coralie[/name].

I don’t know. I like them both, but probably either [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Cora[/name] or [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Coralie[/name]. If you spell it the French way, try [name]Juliette[/name] [name]Marie[/name].
