This is really tough because both are lovely and they both work well. As a name i slightly prefer [name_f]Lila[/name_f] for it’s sweet, clear bright sounds but I think [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] works best for you (and is also just as lovely).

I prefer [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] with [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], some nn’s could be Lissy, [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]

100% [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Anne[/name_f]!

There are so many [name_f]Lila[/name_f]/[name_f]Leila[/name_f]/[name_f]Leela[/name_f] etc. etc. names out there, they all blend into one.

[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is super pretty, and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] sound lovely together.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about ‘[name_f]Lolo[/name_f]’ (low-low) as a nickname? [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] and [name_f]Lolo[/name_f]

[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] sounds better, though I prefer [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] with [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] just sounds too choppy to me. Both are lovely choices though.

Thanks! You don’t have the same concerns about [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]’s? I love [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] together so much, but if my older daughter ends up being called [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] more than [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] (which is already happening), do [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] work as well?

Thank you! [name_f]Elle[/name_f] is the nickname I would try to push if we were going to use one. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] work as well as [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] if she does go by [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]?

I have loved [name_f]Lila[/name_f] since I was a kid for its elegant simplicity. I love that it has both a Sanskirt origin/meaning (“play, amusement”) and an Arabic one (“night”). It was one of our top choices but because of the popularity of [name_f]Lyla[/name_f]/[name_f]Leila[/name_f]/[name_f]Layla[/name_f]/[name_f]Lily[/name_f]/[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] etc. we decided against it. But I think [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] has the same concerns, as you mention, with [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], etc., not to mention being similar to [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Lois[/name_f]. I don’t dislike [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], but I really just think [name_f]Lila[/name_f] is more beautiful.

Both are beautiful in their different ways, but stylistically, [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] fit together wonderfully, my son would say “like peanut butter and jelly”.

I can see the appeal of both names, and think both could work with [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]/[name_f]Gigi[/name_f]. I voted for [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] as I slightly prefer it but could go either way on this one. I see the issue - that [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] sound great together, and the popularity of [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] names. However I do think [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] as a pair is good too - [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] has a soft and cute feel as well I think. It would be different if you were saying eg [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleonora[/name_f] which sounds like a nickname and a very formal name.

Other nn ideas for [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] - [name_f]Lulu[/name_f], Elo, [name_u]Lou[/name_u]/[name_f]Lu[/name_f], [name_f]Essie[/name_f], Ezzie, [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] ,[name_f]Lise[/name_f], [name_f]Lucie[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_u]Isa[/name_u].

I definitely prefer [name_f]Lila[/name_f] to [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] but I do think [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] goes better with [name_f]Georgia[/name_f].

Thanks! That’s exactly it. I don’t mind [name_f]Elle[/name_f] and am hoping to use [name_f]Elle[/name_f] as on occasional nickname sorta the way many [name_f]Emily[/name_f]’s are called [name_f]Em[/name_f] in passing but still known as [name_f]Emily[/name_f]. I really love [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]’s name. [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] is a cute nickname that we started calling her when she was born but now it’s kind of taken over and her teachers and our friends know her as [name_f]Gigi[/name_f]. I’m hoping she will one day get back to [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] but we’ll have to see, so trying to prepare for her to be more of a [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] than a [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. But I appreciate your feedback that [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] don’t sound too off balance.

I prefer [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] as a name, and it’s one you keep coming back to. I actually really like [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] as a set – very spunky [name_m]French[/name_m]. Also, when you consider all the la-la names that are booming in popularity right now, I think [name_f]Lila[/name_f] is just as likely to get lost in the crowd as [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].

Both names are great and both go well with the middle name [name_f]Anne[/name_f]! I think my favorite first name is [name_f]Lila[/name_f], but I love [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] & [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] together! [name_f]Lila[/name_f] is sweet and modern, while [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] feels more tradicional/classic. Which style do you prefer? I think [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] & [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] go well for sisters. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if you’re not sure about that, I have to say that many nicknames appear with time. For that reason, I wouldn’t make the decision based on that. Go with the name you love the most.
Good luck!

I voted [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]! [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] we’re both on our list for baby no. 1 (both not useable now)
I like the idea of [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] with nn [name_u]Lou[/name_u] or [name_f]Lulu[/name_f]

I voted [name_f]Lila[/name_f] but I wanted to vote [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]… I’m torn. Here’s my thought process.
You said you like [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] more. You said you prefer the flow with the middle name. (For what it’s worth I like [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] more. But [name_f]Lila[/name_f] is lovely too.) I think that names should be chosen based on how much you love them. Not how well they flow with siblings, because there is going to be so much more to their life than their siblings. Not for fear of nicknames because all names will evolve, sometimes in unexpected ways, and in the end their name will seem natural and right.
I feel bad that your husband has a negative association with a [name_f]Lila[/name_f]. Yes it’ll go away in time but… I hate that it’s something in his mind during this happy time. You don’t seem to love [name_f]Lila[/name_f] as much but you do seem more comfortable with it…
You keep stressing over [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] and I wonder if it’s something that will drive you mad even once your beautiful baby is here. If every trip to the playground you’ll get a knot in your stomach when someone calls her [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. If strangers call her a nickname she doesn’t go by, it doesn’t have to be a big deal. She won’t feel attachment to it just because a cashier at the supermarket said nice to meet you [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]! But if it’s going to upset you, if it’s going to give you anxiety, if you’re going to hope and pray these strangers in passing calling her [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] don’t add up to her deciding that’s what she wants to go by… Then don’t use the name. You don’t want to go around in circle like you have been for months for years more. Eliminate that stressor and go with [name_f]Lila[/name_f].
If you think once the name is on the birth certificate you can be fully committed, confident and happy with your choice and not stress over [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]'s nickname… Then go [name_u]Eloise[/name_u].

On its own, I prefer the name [name_f]Lila[/name_f] to [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. However, I prefer the flow of [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], and think it sounds better with [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. “[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]” sounds lovely. That said, I think it depends how much “[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]” would bother you. If it annoys you, and you correct them that it’s just [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], I think that’s fine. If you’re really going to stress every time someone says [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f] might be the better option. Both are lovely names.

When she goes to a new school, she will probably change to [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] naturally, unless she keeps introducing herself as [name_f]Gigi[/name_f]. I went by a nickname in school until the age of 7, because that’s what my parents introduced me as. However, when I went to a new school and the teachers went off the name on the register, I went by my full name.
