Lie-luh
Lee-luh
LIE-luh
lie-luh
Lie-luh
But I’m in the southern US
LEE-luh
Lie-luh
Lil-uh
LY-luh
I have concluded that most people pronounce it lie-luh, some people prefer lee-luh, and on rare occasions, it’s lil-uh! Thanks everyone!
[name_f]My[/name_f] instinctual pronunciation is LY-luh (ly as in life).
Lie-luh
LYE- la
[name_m]Lye[/name_m] la
I have a [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] and added the H to try and avoid confusion:)
I have met 4 people with the name Lila; two pronounce it lee-luh and the 2 others like lie-luh, so honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised by either.
If I were trying to figure out how to pronounce the name in regards to a stranger, I would make an educated guess based on whether they were francophone or anglophone, since it’s obviously not foolproof and would depend a lot on where you lived, but all the Lee-luhs I’ve met were french-speaking, while the Lie-luhs were english-speaking.
