Lila

What do you think about name [name]Lila[/name]? Another option is [name]Lilia[/name]- which do you prefer [name]Lila[/name] or [name]Lilia[/name]?

I love [name]Lila[/name], but hate [name]Lilia[/name].

[name]EDIT[/name]: I hate [name]Lilia[/name] so much that I forgot to mark [name]Lilia[/name] [name]Lilia[/name]

Please, mods, don’t edit my message(s). [name]Lilia[/name] [name]Lilia[/name] will lose the meaning.

Why do you hate [name]Lilia[/name] so much?

I like them both but I definitely prefer [name]Lila[/name]

I love both and can’t decide which I prefer, sorry! If pushed I guess I love [name]Lilia[/name] a little more.

I love [name]Lila[/name]. Very pretty, classic, and simple. Easy to say and spell, good choice!

Definitely [name]Lilia[/name]. [name]Lila[/name] is so done to death right now. I have a colleague named [name]Lila[/name] and my BFF’s daughter is [name]Lila[/name]. It’s very pretty but it’s just been done. And done and done.

[name]Lilia[/name] has not really been done. It’s different enough to be striking, but easy to pronounce and with elements that make it familiar. It also has some literary cred, and cute nn options [name]Lil[/name], [name]Lili[/name], and [name]Lia[/name].

Definitely [name]Lilia[/name].

I prefer [name]Lila[/name], it seems more streamlined and pretty. [name]Lilia[/name] seems a little more “frilly”.

[name]Lily[/name], [name]Lila[/name], [name]Lilia[/name], [name]Leah[/name], [name]Layla[/name], [name]Lia[/name], [name]Lola[/name] … all those names start to blend together after a while. I am not really sure if I like one more than the other.

I honestly love [name]Lila[/name] and [name]Lilia[/name] a lot, and for different reasons. Lately I’ve been on a [name]Lila[/name] kick, but if you’d have asked me last week, I would have said [name]Lilia[/name]. [name]Lily[/name] names have a lot of meaning for me, personally, so even though it’s not for my baby [name]Lilia[/name] has the slight edge for me.

Good luck!

I love them both! [name]Lila[/name] sounds a lot softer to me, but I also love the spunkyness of [name]Lilia[/name]. I think I would go with [name]Lilia[/name] personally, because it seems a little more unique than [name]Lila[/name].

I prefer [name]Lila[/name] but I don’t really know why.

[name]Lila[/name] is really beautiful!

I like [name]Lila[/name] - soft and gentle and not as universally popular as, say, [name]Lily[/name]. I prefer [name]Lila[/name] to [name]Lilia[/name] for two reasons: [name]Lilia[/name] is a bit if a mouhful, and I think she would get lost in the crowd of [name]Lily[/name] s.

I adore [name]Lila[/name]. I think it’s classic and strong, yet feminine and pretty. I think [name]Lilia[/name] is very frilly and not as substantial. It also seems to be really popular right now.

I love both, but [name]Lillia[/name] is on my final 5 list. I am fearful to use it b/c there are so many variations of Lill- names going around right now and I feel like while different that name will get bunched in with all the [name]Lily[/name]'s. I prefer the double ll spelling. I think it’s beautiful and I’m not sure how anyone could say they “hate” it but okay…I’ve seen much worse floating around on here lol

I love [name]Lila[/name]. [name]Lilia[/name] seems girlier to me, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s nn-ed [name]Lily[/name], either.

The only complaint I’ve heard about [name]Lila[/name] is that it’s part of the trendy double L name group ([name]Lola[/name], [name]Lily[/name], [name]Lillian[/name], [name]Layla[/name], etc.). Personally, though, I know tons of Lilys of various ages but have only met one [name]Lila[/name], and I never associated the double L names before joining NB ( think we may, dare I say it? tend to overthink names and associations an itsy bit).

Thank you for your answers, they were very helpfull!

I really love [name]Lila[/name]! However, it is very popular where I live, so I wouldn’t use it. Not a fan of [name]Lilia[/name]. It isn’t bad, just not my style at all.

I definitely prefer [name]Lila[/name], I personally prefer the [name]Lyla[/name] spelling of it though, which is probably the only name variation I prefer with a ‘y’. I think [name]Lilia[/name] is a bit too frilly, and kind of blends with all the [name]Lilly[/name] names.
