I am personally not fond of [name_f]Iris[/name_f], it just makes me think of the iris of the eye, although I do find the flowers gorgeous. They are just never what comes to mind. I love [name_f]Lilac[/name_f], and it has special meaning for me, but I would personally only use it as a middle name.
Both are lovely but I guess it depends what you’re after -[name_f]Iris[/name_f] is gorgeous but more familiar. [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] is beautiful but less in use.
My personal favourite of these two combos is [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] [name_f]Valentia[/name_f]! [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] [name_f]Viveca[/name_f] would be nice too!
Some other ideas:
[name_f]Tansy[/name_f] [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
[name_f]Peony[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Lotus[/name_f] [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] Luciana
I used to love the combo [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], it’s fallen off my personal favorites but I still vote for [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Julietta[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] the plant but it doesn’t sound like a name to me.
I love [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Julietta[/name_f]! To my ear, [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is spare, sophisticated, and feminine. I have never met an [name_f]Iris[/name_f] of any age.
[name_f]Lilac[/name_f] is stunning! Very underused and very sweet.
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] is nice as well, but 1) it makes me think of eyes 2) I can easily see it entering the top 100
I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f], I’m not a fan of [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] as a first name as it doesn’t feel very substantial or suitable for a professional adult. I think [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is very lovely.
I really like both and they both feel similar in terms of their overall ‘vibe’ if that makes sense. In terms of the first names, [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is definitely more common (at least in the UK). My mum is actually called [name_f]Iris[/name_f] but she only ever knew of two other women named [name_f]Iris[/name_f] before the name became more popular in the last few years. She really likes her name and she’s always had compliments on it. [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] however is more unusual but who knows , maybe [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] will become more common. If you are interested in a more uncommon name , I would go with [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] [name_f]Valentia[/name_f] . I love [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Julietta[/name_f] but I think it would be more likely that there would be other little girls called [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and I don’t know how much that factor is of importance to you . I think either name would be lovely
I’m in love with [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] [name_f]Valentia[/name_f]! I’m a big fan of both [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f] as firsts but that combo just wins it for me
OMG, [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Julietta[/name_f] is so beautiful. I’d definitely go with that one. [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] is pretty but a little too harsh sounding for my own personal taste.
Both are absolutely gorgeous and would make a lovely choice for your new addition! I think the deciding factor would have to be your other children’s names and how they fit together.
I guess I have heard the name [name_f]Iris[/name_f] out and about…trying to find a botanical first time, without it being “too” common, but also not “too,” pedigree dog/pony sounding! It is difficult! I like [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] too…but my son’s name starts with an A, and we use initials often when referring to the children…
I like both but I’ve always loved the name [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] or [name_f]Julietta[/name_f] goes very nicely with it too. I do like [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] although I’ve never heard it said the way you pronounce it so I can imagine people mispronouncing it.
