Lilia - Thoughts/Suggestions?

[name]Hi[/name] Berries!
My DH and I have been having lots of name talk lately (or should I say I’ve been doing lots of talking, and he has been doing lots of listening)

We have agreed on [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] for a girl, but we have been discussing other names as well (even though we aren’t preg. yet, we want a few names to go to the hospital with, and will decide once we meet the little person). For some reason, girls names are SOOOOO much harder for us to agree on. I met a little girl named [name]Lilia[/name] this week, who was just gorgeous and an absolute doll. For me, I need good associations with a name to even consider it…

Anyhow, I brought the name up to my hubby, and he actually LIKED it! Now that isn’t to say he would want to use it … but, for him, this is a good start. So, I guess my first question is, do [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Lilia[/name] even go together? I feel like one is more traditional, classic-sounding, and the other is a bit more exotic and Latin-sounding. I like coming up with potential sibling sets, only because I don’t want to choose a name, and then we go to have more children, and we can’t agree to other names that “match” the first child’s name in some way. That probably seems crazy…

Also, what would you use as a middle name for a little [name]Lilia[/name]? Our last name rhymes with “[name]Tower[/name].” I’m going to list other girls names that we like so you can have some ideas to go on. Also, any other suggestions (such as using [name]Lilia[/name] as a middle name even, would be appreciated). We were hoping to have about 3 names that we both adore before meeting the baby, and right now, we only have one (for a girl).

Names I like:
[name]Clara[/name] (fn or mn) or [name]Claire[/name] (prob. MN only)
[name]Lucia[/name] (I know, different from the rest)
[name]Collette[/name] (prob. MN only)
[name]Imogen[/name] (prob. wouldn’t use this b/c of pronunciation and DH won’t agree)

Names he likes:
[name]Eliza[/name] [name]Tulip[/name] (I have no idea where this came from, but I will not name a child after myself … but this is his favorite name!!!)
[name]Clara[/name] (finally got him to agree that this name is “ok”)

Sorry this turned into an insanely long post. I just wanted to be detailed! Can’t wait to hear some suggestions!

[name]Eliza[/name]

I just wanted to say that I love [name]Lilia[/name]! I think it goes well with [name]Ivy[/name]. They do have different sounds, but both are floral names which is kind of cute!

Out of the names you listed, I like [name]Lilia[/name] [name]June[/name] or [name]Lilia[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]. Also something like [name]Lilia[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] would be pretty.

It’s so funny that your husband’s favorite name is YOUR name. My husband is the same way! I keep telling him that we will not be naming a daugher after me, lol. At least they like us I guess!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful response [name]Villette[/name]! I’m glad that you think [name]Lilia[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] “go” together. I think [name]Lilia[/name] [name]June[/name] and [name]Lilia[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] sound nice too. I could probably convince DH of the latter, since he is now “ok” with [name]Charlotte[/name]. I think it is funny that both DH’s love our names so much! Although, I have no idea where mine got “[name]Tulip[/name]” from, in the middle name position, but hey at least it’s something original! I also really like the suggestion of [name]Lilia[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]…something to consider! Thanks again for taking the time to respond - I appreciate all the feedback we can get - now that we are TTC everything is so real, and I am being crazy about planning everything …
