[name]Hi[/name] all–I came across the name Lilietta online a few days ago. Is this a real name or made up? And what do you think of it? I’m torn between thinking it sounds very pretty–but also thinking it might sound made up. Thoughts, please!
Sounds made up to me. Like someone combined [name]Lolita[/name] and [name]Lily[/name].
It may be made-up, but it still sounds beautiful. My only turn-off to it is the popularity of [name]Lily[/name]. Have you considered [name]Lilibet[/name], an old variant of [name]Elizabeth[/name]?
[name]Lilibet[/name] is very pretty too. I’m hovering between loving any [name]Lily[/name] name enough to use it or letting go of it due to popularity. [name]Lilla[/name] is my favorite right now, but I do like Liletta too…[name]Etta[/name] is an adorable nickname.
I think it’s made up, but I think it’s very pretty! I love the possibility of [name]Etta[/name] as a nickname.
It does sound made up, but it’s really pretty! I also love the nn [name]Etta[/name].
It sounds pretty enough to not be too “made up”… but someone had to come up with ALL names originally, so who knows if it won’t eventually be considered a classic?
It’s probably made up, but there is an albanian name ‘luljeta’ (pronounced ‘lool YET ah’) which is very similar in sound and means ‘flower of life’ you could tell people it’s a ‘phonetic’ spelling
I don’t hate it. It might not have much recorded history but Lilietta doesn’t seem ridiculous. I like the sounds in it and I could see it working [name]IRL[/name]. I think it sounds kind of vintage but still pretty. People would get used to it very quickly since the sounds are so common. I could see this name getting a lot of compliments in real life. Cool find, thanks for sharing
Not sure but I know Liliette is a name though as far as I know it’s been used less than 10 times as a formal given name.
I know I’m really behind in replying to this, but I think I’m really starting to like Lilietta…thanks for all the replies, everyone.
Definitely looks made up. But I could see it being used. It has a lovely sound. I’d probably turn it into a hyphenated name: [name]Lily[/name]-[name]Etta[/name] or [name]Lillie[/name]-[name]Etta[/name].
Interesting idea to hyphenate it, thanks [name]Patricia[/name]. I like the look of [name]Lily[/name]-[name]Etta[/name], but still might lean towards Lilietta.
I think it’s made up or very rare, according to white pages, there is only one person in the US that has that name! It’s really pretty though, I like it.
You guys are great! I do like it a lot, and I think it will go on our short list. I am usually one who likes classic, well-established names, but I think I might have to make an exception for Lilietta.
