[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] - I voted for this. Although the flow isn’t perfect I think the classiness of the two names is perfect together.

[name]Lila[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] - [name]Lila[/name] is a little too nicknamish for me, so paired with a strong classic like [name]Adelaide[/name], it falls short

[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] - nothing wrong with this combo, [name]Charlotte[/name] just isn’t my cup of tea

[name]Eloise[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] - this is lovely and is my sisters no1 combo atm (and funnily enough her middle name is [name]Adelaide[/name]) - [name]Eloise[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name] sounds so good together, I just like [name]Lillian[/name] better. I also am not a fan of the NN [name]Lola[/name] and [name]Ellie[/name] is so… overdone.

[name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Elspeth[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Elisabeth[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Cecelia[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]

[name]Love[/name] [name]Lillian[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]!

I really love both [name]Lillian[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Lila[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]! I think both are just gorgeous with [name]Adelaide[/name], although [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Lila[/name] narrowly wins it for me. While I love [name]Lillian[/name] (and [name]Lily[/name]!), and I think [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Addy[/name] are really cute together, my one concern is the similarity between [name]Lauren[/name] and [name]Lillian[/name]–"[name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Lillian[/name]" sort of sounds like [name]Addy[/name]'s full name, [name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Lauren[/name]. I don’t know if that would bother you or not, I think [name]Lillian[/name]'s still very usable, it just gave me pause. I do really love [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Lillian[/name] as sisters, though!

While I adore [name]Charlotte[/name] (it’s on my own short list!) I’m not sure about [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]. I’ve seen the combo before, and it’s just not a pairing I love, although it is very gorgeous, and I guess loving the FN is what matters most here. I think [name]Addy[/name] and [name]Lola[/name] is adorable, although I do like [name]Addy[/name] and [name]Lily[/name]/[name]Addy[/name] and [name]Lila[/name] more.

If you like [name]Lila[/name] but want it as a nn for something, have you considered something like [name]Lillian[/name]/[name]Liliana[/name] nn [name]Lila[/name]?

Good luck!

Wow! Thanks for the quick replies!

emelis - Thanks for the additional suggestions. I do like [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Cecelia[/name], but all are family or friends’ names that I cannot use.

thetxbelle - I forgot to add [name]Vivienne[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] to my list! I noticed this was also a name in your signature. I recently have thought about using [name]Vivienne[/name] because it means “life” - after losing my dad. However, I wasn’t sure that [name]Trevor[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name] & [name]Vivienne[/name] (or [name]Trev[/name], [name]Addy[/name], and [name]Vivi[/name]) were a good match. What are your thoughts?

ashthedreamer - Thanks for your response! I agree with you about the flow in [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] and that is one of my reservations as well. I have thought about [name]Liliana[/name], but think I prefer [name]Lillian[/name]. I wasn’t sure that [name]Lila[/name] was an acceptable nickname for [name]Lillian[/name] either (I have seen other polls on this). I wish it could be as I do think it would be the best of both worlds for me! What do you think?

Thanks again!!

I think [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name] sound perfect together! They’re both on my list, as well as [name]Josephine[/name] as a possible middle for another name. Of course, all the names in your poll are beautiful and timeless. You really can’t go wrong.

I voted for [name]Eloise[/name] but I also really like [name]Vivienne[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]. We have [name]Lilla[/name] and [name]Vivienne[/name] and our next two planned names are [name]Eloise[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name] so this post is right up my ally.

adgjl & sarab.cook - Funny to hear that we all share similar taste in names! [name]Love[/name] that! I wish I would have remembered my recent addition of [name]Vivienne[/name] when I was creating this poll to see what other people think. Depending on how this poll turns out (right now the numbers are pretty close), I may do another one with the top three votes + [name]Vivienne[/name].

[name]One[/name] other thing I forgot to mention, was that if we do go with [name]Eloise[/name]… my name + my children’s names would spell my nickname!

K - [name]Kathryn[/name]
A - [name]Adelaide[/name]
T - [name]Trevor[/name]
E - [name]Eloise[/name]

People that I have told this to only laugh… so, it must just be a nameberry thing to over analyze every possible (perfect) combination!

Aww, that’s cute! That makes me actually sort of like [name]Eloise[/name], though it’s not generally my thing!

As for [name]Lillian[/name] nn [name]Lila[/name], I think it could totally work! I remember suggesting [name]Lila[/name] to someone on another name forum, and she said she liked it, and would probably use [name]Lily[/name] as a nn. So if [name]Lila[/name] could get the nn [name]Lily[/name], why couldn’t [name]Lillian[/name] get the nn [name]Lila[/name]? I don’t think everyone will understand it, but I still think it could work.

[name]Charlotte[/name] is one of my very favourite names ever. [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is even better. That is one of the most regal names I could possibly imagine - sounds like a queen or an empress to me.

[name]Lillian[/name] and [name]Lila[/name] are two of my other favourites, although I prefer [name]Charlotte[/name]. I love [name]Lila[/name], but I think I like calling a girl [name]Lily[/name] better than [name]Lila[/name], so would go with [name]Lillian[/name]. [name]Both[/name] go well with [name]Josephine[/name].

I am probably in a minority here, but I actually don’t like [name]Eloise[/name].

[name]Love[/name] [name]Lillian[/name] [name]Josephine[/name].

~[name]Jasmine[/name]

I voted for [name]Eloise[/name] but [name]Laurel[/name] is very pretty and the combo of [name]Laurel[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] flows so beautifully.

[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]! It’s very beautiful and classic.

#1 This post is right up my ally! My nephew is [name]Trevor[/name], and I almost named my dd [name]Adelaide[/name]. I know sisters [name]Addie[/name] and [name]Lily[/name] (early 20s) thwy are a great sister set, and I always admired it.
I understand your feelings about [name]Charlotte[/name]. I think the same.
[name]Eloise[/name] is probably my fav from your list. [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name] are so much fun to say together and have the same flavor.
But then I read [name]Vivienne[/name] and this is my favorite for you! I think its so perfect! Especilly because of the meaning

I love [name]Addy[/name] and [name]Lila[/name] together!!

[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is gorgeous and flows very well with your other children’s names.

Thanks so much to everyone who voted! I loved reading all of the comments, too! Seems like there are many of us on this board with similar taste!

I thought it was funny that in my daughter’s music class this morning, we had an [name]Adelaide[/name] (us), [name]Charlotte[/name] and a [name]Vivienne[/name]! What a gorgeous sibset that would make!

I think I know in my heart that [name]Lillian[/name] is the best choice, I just wish it wasn’t so common. Although, the beauty of the name just goes to show why it’s popular for a reason!

Please keep the comments/suggestions coming! I love, love, love them all!!

I am bumping this thread up again as another name that I keep seeing is [name]Elowen[/name].

Since I love the [name]El[/name] in [name]Eloise[/name] and the boy name [name]Owen[/name], what do you think of [name]Elowen[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]? [name]Trevor[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Elowen[/name]? I do love the nature connection (in wanting to honor my dad) to this name as well.

[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] for the win!

Though I’d vote [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] if it was a choice.

First off, I’m so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose someone so important. I’m glad that you get to honor him with your next child. I voted for [name]Lila[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] because I love the way the two names flow together. That said, I think you should go with [name]Lillian[/name] as it does seem that your heart of hearts has already decided this - it is a beautiful name. All of your choices are beautiful - in fact [name]Eloise[/name] is on my very short list for our daughter due in [name]January[/name] (and my daughter is also [name]Adelaide[/name]!). I didn’t pick it for you because it doesn’t flow as well with [name]Josephine[/name] and I think in this case, [name]Josephine[/name] is the important aspect to her name so I chose a name that compliments. [name]Elowen[/name] is lovely and has some fantastic nn potentials but I don’t think it fits with the sibset - a little “[name]Lord[/name] of the Rings” I think. Anyway, good luck - you really can’t go wrong with any of your choices.
