Lillium

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think this would make a nice name? I think it sounds pretty and kind of reminds me of [name_u]Linden[/name_u] or [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]. I know it rhymes with helium, but still haha. It just means that the name “Lillium” floats.

Sounds like Lillian, but looks more like it would appear on the periodic table. Truthfully, the first thing comes to mind is lithium. It doesn’t really sound like a person’s name, to me!

Oh yeah, it does kind of sound like lithium actually. I made this post thinking that Lillium may have actually already bean a name (probably because it reminds me of Alyssum, which isn’t really a name either though).

[name_f]Lilium[/name_f] is the scientific name for the genus of lily!! So, it could work. Particularly with a nickname <3

Oh, cool!

I think it fits in with the [name_f]Lili[/name_f]- name trend that’s been gaining popularity. I agree that it sounds like lithium a little bit, and I think as a first name you’d be forever explaining that your name is Lili-UM not Lili-AN, which could get old. I think it would make a super cool middle name though!

I think it’s cool! It reminds me of [name_u]Lumen[/name_u] which I also like.

Ooh Lillium is really pretty and intriguing though I do think it might get misheard as [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]

I actually really like this as a name! I have a character named [name_f]Lilium[/name_f] and I think it’s really sweet and charming! :tulip::revolving_hearts:

I didn’t think about this myself before, but I do have to agree, unfortunately. Especially with how popular and widely used Lillian is

Ohh I adore this ! it may get mispronounced as [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] though.

It sounds like a potion or pharmaceutical to me like lithium or Valium, unfortunately. I agree that it would be mixed up with Lillian a lot.

I much prefer Lily, or if pushed, Lillian.

I initially misread it as lithium

Helium and Lithium were all I thought of at first. So to me it seems more scientific then a name to call someone. Although if I saw it as a name I could see one thinking it was a misspelling of [name_f]Lillian[/name_f].

I prefer the “original” latin spelling, [name_f]Lilium[/name_f]. I love it and the science connections in particular! It works as an honour to science :dna: :microscope::telescope::petri_dish::test_tube::tulip::herb:
Helium has a long “ee” and Lilium/Lillium doesn’t so I didn’t make the connection. I wouldn’t confuse it with Lithium either because especially when pronounced, “th” and “l” aren’t that close sound-wise.

I think that it’s a cool, beautiful and a slightly mystical name. It makes me think of lilies, science and Ancient [name_u]Rome[/name_u], all things I love.

If you really want a name no one ever asks you to spell (if there even is such a thing…), then Lilium/Lillium isn’t the right choice. Nevertheless, I think it’s usable and simply wonderful :two_hearts:

It’s quite cute but I do think you would be constantly having it misheard/misspelled as [name_f]Lillian[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] honest first thought was that it sounds a lot like Beryllium.

I think it would be a cool middle name but would be a hassle as a first name.
