Emelina is a constant love for me and I am constantly finding nicknames and middle names for her. I have been loving Lilou as a nickname for her but I feel like it’s a tiny bit of a stretch.
I feel like the Li, part of Lilou makes sense but the Lou part makes it seem like a stretch. Does it seem too much or does it fit in?
Edit: Lilou probably would be just be her nickname at home not her formal one, that would most likely be Emmi
For me it is too much of a stretch as both names are fairly well known and unrelated other than each having the letters li. Not really different that [name_f]Bella[/name_f] being a nickname for [name_f]Lila[/name_f].
I think it works as a family nickname, but not so much as a formal one. I agree with @Victory55 that adding a ‘Lou-’ name in the middle might make it more intuitive.
I think of it’s intuitive to you, it totally works—especially as a family/home nickname! Nicknames are often stretchy or weird, coming from all sorts of reasons. I think [name_f]Lilou[/name_f] is gorgeous, and I can see it for [name_f]Emelina[/name_f]. It’s such a cute pet name for a little girl!
