Lilwen or Lilawyn?

I’d love to know what people think about these two names.

I went through a stage where I really wanted unique names that I loved, and I came across [name_f]Lilwen[/name_f]. I wasn’t totally sold, so I added the A and instantly loved it. But recently I’ve been second guessing it for a number of reasons. The first reason is that not many other people like it, which wouldn’t usually bother me, except I started to think why. And maybe it’s because it has too many vowels; it’s starting to sound like a mouthful. The other reason is the pronunciation. I’ve used it occasionally on the forums and people seem to pronounce it many different ways and I wouldn’t want my daughter to be correcting people her whole life. So I’ve started thinking about [name_f]Lilwen[/name_f].

I’m not 100% sold, but I’m starting to like it more, mostly since it’s an existing name and would be hard to mispronounce. I may prefer it more if it was spelt Lilwyn, which isn’t the traditional spelling, but would make it seem more like my name which as the less common -wyn spelling.

So I’d love to know everyone else’s opinions. The poll would be the best way to get an overall idea of the majority, but I’d still love to know the details of everyone’s opinions, so feel free to leave a comment.

TIA!

I like the sound of Lilawyn quite a lot, considering it’s said LIL-uh-wen, not LY-la-wen. The second was my first thought when I saw the name, which put me off. I think I’d prefer Lillawyn personally.

Thank you! Like I said, I’ve not heard much love for it, but maybe if people know how I’d pronounce it they may like it more.

Lilwen is lovely

I like both but I feel like [name_f]Lilwen[/name_f] is just missing something, and that extra sound in Lilawyn sorta makes it, iykwim. [name_f]Lilwen[/name_f] feels a little short and unfinished compared to Lilawyn which feels fuller and more elegant. (The difference a letter makes!!) I do like both though.

Thank you! That’s pretty much exactly how I felt, and I love that you like both names.
