I’m [name]Lisa[/name], my husband is [name]Lenny[/name], baby #1 is [name]Lilyana[/name] ([name]Lily[/name])…all L’s. pregnant with daughter #2, my husband likes [name]Luciana[/name] ([name]Lucy[/name]). I love the name [name]Luciana[/name] and I think [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] us cute for sisters. Too similar for sisters 2 years apart? Or cute?
Please help me decide. Thanks
Personally I feel [name]Lilyana[/name] & [name]Luciana[/name], [name]Lily[/name] & [name]Lucy[/name] are too close. Some other ‘L’ names you might consider…
[name]Leonie[/name]
[name]Lorelei[/name]
[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Leonora[/name]
[name]Lucasta[/name]
[name]Lena[/name]
[name]Lavinia[/name]
[name]Lyra[/name]
I think [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] are both adorable, but [name]Lilyana[/name] and [name]Luciana[/name], nns [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name], are way too matchy. If you want to continue the “L” idea, I think that’s fine, but [name]Lilyana[/name] and [name]Luciana[/name] both end in the -iana sound, but start with "L"s, are the same number of letters, have the same flow and cadence, both have short-and-sweet vintagey nicknames that are both quite huge right now, both of which are 4 letters, have the same flow, and start with “L” and end in “Y”–plus, many people look to [name]Lucy[/name] as an alternative to [name]Lily[/name], which many find too popular. It feels like essentially the same name to me, sorry. I think you could easily pick another “L” name for your second daughter without it being so matchy. What about something like [name]Lola[/name], [name]Louisa[/name], [name]Luna[/name], [name]Lorelei[/name], [name]Laura[/name], [name]Liora[/name], [name]Leona[/name]/[name]Leonie[/name], etc.?
If I’m honest, I find [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] rather twee together, but it’s not too bad.
What I don’t think works, is having two -iana names, in fact it would be terrible.
Other [name]Lucy[/name] names you might consider:
[name]Lucille[/name]/[name]Lucilla[/name]
[name]Lucinda[/name]
[name]Lucretia[/name]/[name]Lucrezia[/name]
[name]Lucetta[/name]
[name]Lucine[/name]/Lusine (Lusine is an Armenian name meaning ‘moon’, which I think is adorable)
I think that [name]Lilyana[/name] and [name]Luciana[/name] are too close because they end the same. You might be able to get away with [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] but they are also very similar.
Longer forms for [name]Lucy[/name]:
[name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Lucina[/name]
[name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Lucinda[/name]
[name]Lucilla[/name]
[name]Lucette[/name]
[name]Louisa[/name]
I don’t think [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] are too close, but I do think [name]Lily[/name]ana and [name]Luci[/name]ana are too close. It’d be similar to using [name]Isabelle[/name] and [name]Anabelle[/name], imo. [name]How[/name] about [name]Lilyana[/name] and [name]Lucia[/name], nn [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name]?
[name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] that close is just too much for my taste. It would sound to me like a pair of cats rather than two daughters.
Something a bit longer or with a different sound at the end would be a better choice. Save [name]Lucy[/name] for another daughter down the line if you want - with another child’s name in the middle it will break up the similarities of the sounds.
[name]Luciana[/name] is way too similar to your daughters name (b/c of the [name]Ana[/name] ending) But I do like the L theme. Would you consider [name]Lucy[/name] as a full name? [name]Lacey[/name] is nice too. Or how about getting [name]Lucy[/name] from:
[name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Luanne[/name]
[name]Luella[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Lucinda[/name]
I don’t think they’re too close. But if I met sister [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] and didn’t know they have longer names, I would think that boring. [name]Both[/name] seem sort of timeless and Idk maybe 50’s 60’s, etc. Probably been used before. I would be more likely to something like:
[name]Lucinda[/name] or [name]Lucille[/name] or [name]Lucretia[/name] or Lucrenzia to use with [name]Lucy[/name].
I like [name]Lucia[/name] and [name]Louise[/name] without [name]Lucy[/name].
I also like
[name]Lorelai[/name]
[name]Lavender[/name]
[name]Lark[/name]
[name]Layla[/name]
[name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Lucky[/name]
[name]Laurie[/name]
[name]Lisbeth[/name]
[name]Leah[/name]/[name]Leia[/name]
[name]Letitia[/name] nn [name]Letty[/name]
[name]Lavinia[/name]
[name]Linnea[/name]
[name]Lynnette[/name]
So in short I gave you a lot of questions but I do think the combo works. [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] are both classic well-known names it probably works. Good [name]Luck[/name]!
I love [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] together!! But in my opinion, the full names are just too similar. I don’t like the [name]ANA[/name] on the end of both names, it makes it sound like they have the same name. [name]Love[/name] how you all have L names, though. Too cute!
Good luck!!
[name]Lilyana[/name] and [name]Louisa[/name] ([name]Lulu[/name])?
