What do you think of sisters called [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]?
Or other flower names like [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Laurel[/name_f], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and others
I think British Chef [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] has 3 girls named [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_f]Petal[/name_f]. I think it’s cute.
I like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] together.
I like the names individually, but together I think the floral theme is too much. I love nature names, but I tend not to like themed or matchy sibsets.
If I had to pick, [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], and either [name_f]Iris[/name_f] or [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] would be cute. Or something like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] “[name_f]Lily[/name_f]”, [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] “[name_f]Rosie[/name_f]”, and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] “[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]”.
Separately I love them, as siblings I feel it is over kill and degrades the loveliness of each name. It also lumps the girls as one unit instead of individuals. If you like word names I would choose names from different categories, for example [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_u]Harper[/name_u], and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Mae[/name_f], and [name_u]Fable[/name_u].
Naming a large family of girls all after flowers is a major GP of mine! [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] (though i tend to spell it with a y instead) and I also like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]. The only thing I don’t care for about that group is that they all end in the “ee” sound (that’s a weird pet peeve of mine haha). I wouldn’t actually name all of my daughters after flowers, because I do think it lumps them together as a group rather than individuals, like a pp said, but I still love to dream up combos. My latest list was:
[name_f]Flower[/name_f] named sibsets are also a GP of mine and I think it is very cutesy.
The only name I don’t care for in the subset is [name_f]Poppy[/name_f].
I prefer the sibset
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f])
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]
I’ll probably use one of the names in longer form like [name_f]Liliosa[/name_f] and some variant of [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] the idea of naming all of your girls after a theme and I’ll explain why. When you send them off into the world they will probably get married and lose their maiden name. But they will always have a bond and a lovely story if they are named with a theme. Maybe all the same middle, or all flowers, or all spices, or all characters from the same book, etc.
However, I don’t like names that rhyme or sound the same… everyone needs a name that is their own! So maybe instead of those… maybe:
