I’ve taught dozens of Lilys for the last 30 years, but never a [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f].
I’m torn. I prefer [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] as it sounds so much fresher and lacks the double Ls. However, [name_f]Lily[/name_f] goes better with [name_f]Maddison[/name_f].
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] are favorites of mine! I wish i had suggested these as [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] especially I think fits in very well with her theme
Another vote for Daphne… I’m just a bit over [name_f]Lily[/name_f] but there’s totally nothing wrong with the name.
I’d you go with [name_f]Lily[/name_f] would you consider [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] spelling? I think it looks more like [name_f]Maddison[/name_f] (with the double letter).
Other names that sound similar or have a similar vibe and would go well with [name_f]Maddison[/name_f]:
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Lula[/name_f]
[name_f]Polly[/name_f]
[name_f]Linnea[/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f]
I actually picked [name_f]Maddison[/name_f] over [name_u]Madison[/name_u] because I felt it looked prettier and more feminine. But I just see the word Silly whenever I see [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] with two L’s. And I like the flower association, so I would probably choose the [name_f]Lily[/name_f] spelling.
[name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Laura[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] means laurel tree so I loved that it had the same meaning. [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is a really pretty flower as well! I found all of this out after we picked the name.
So it looks like I’m leaning towards a flower name lol, but I’m not sold on [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]. Maybe [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. I do think [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is cute but my SIL just named her dog that. I love [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] but my husband doesn’t like it.
I love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], and the meaning is way too beautiful (nymph/a small Eurasian shrub with sweet-scented flowers and, typically, evergreen leaves)! [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is cute too but I think it’s less serious and too overused.
Oh wow. Given the Laura/Daphne collection I think you absolutely have to go with that. It is perfect!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Lily[/name_f] but I have a [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] so of course I’m bias!
Thank you! Lilia Daphne is starting to grow on me as we are so torn between the names now.
It seems like you like the idea of a flower or plant meaning behind the name. These are other flower names that come to mind that I also think would work well with [name_f]Maddison[/name_f].
[name_u]Holly[/name_u]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]

[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_u]Saige[/name_u]
[name_u]Willow[/name_u]
I also really love the idea of sister having a double letter in her name to have a subtle tie to Maddison’s name. Below are some that came to mind that I feel matches a similar style of big sister’s name.

[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]

[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_u]Willow[/name_u]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites for you are [name_u]Holly[/name_u], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] with nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] with nn [name_f]Lillie[/name_f] or lily, [name_f]Molly[/name_f], [name_u]Reese[/name_u], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
I think either name would go well with [name_f]Maddison[/name_f], but I think I slightly prefer [name_f]Lily[/name_f] for it. Super sweet and [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] & [name_f]Lily[/name_f] sound so cute together!!
