I am struggling for a girls name! Before I knew my 1 yr old son was a boy I had the names [name]Harper[/name], [name]Violet[/name], and [name]Willow[/name] on the list. Now [name]Harper[/name] is way too popular, [name]Violet[/name] seems to be on everyone’s lists ([name]Do[/name] you know a lot of baby [name]Violet[/name]'s)?, and I still like [name]Willow[/name] but not as much as I used to. I came across the name [name]Linden[/name] and like it a lot but I know it can be a boys names as well. My husband loves [name]Winter[/name] for a girl but I am not completely sold. Please give me any suggestions or input on the names [name]Linden[/name], [name]Winter[/name], [name]Violet[/name], and [name]Willow[/name]. [name]TY[/name]
[name]Linden[/name] to me is a boy’s name. Can’t see it on a girl. I do like [name]Winter[/name], [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Willow[/name] though (we actually have all three of those on our list). I only know one [name]Violet[/name] and one [name]Willow[/name] and both of those are children of acquaintances.
I had [name]Violet[/name] on my list too; I think lots of people have it on their lists but very few choose it. I don’t know any Violets. [name]Willow[/name] is gaining in popularity more than [name]Violet[/name], I think. I love [name]Winter[/name]. [name]Linden[/name] doesn’t do it for me. It’s a bit too masculine and sounds a little made up to me.
I like [name]Willow[/name] and [name]Winter[/name] a lot, not so much [name]Violet[/name] (but I seem to be the only one) [name]Linden[/name] is nice I guess, not my style but OK.
I love [name]Linden[/name]. I met a [name]Linden[/name] while I was it college. She was tall and had long wavy blonde hair and some hippie tendencies. Her name always reminded me of a tree (in a good way if that makes sense).
I love nature names and [name]Linden[/name] is a favorite. Nature names are unisex, although some lean more to one sex. [name]Linden[/name] leans to the masculine side, but it’s a tree- perfectly fine for a girl. I prefer [name]Willow[/name] and [name]Juniper[/name] for boys, and [name]Ashby[/name] and [name]Linden[/name] for girls (obviously I’m in the minority)
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Willow[/name] have become too popular for me. [name]Willow[/name] and [name]Harper[/name] sound fresher on boys. [name]Winter[/name] is OK, not crazy about it

I do like [name]Linden[/name] because it is a tree and I [name]LOVE[/name] nature names. ([name]River[/name] was always a favorite of mine for a boy). If we decide to go with [name]Linden[/name] I would use a very girly sounding middle name. I actually like Lindley a lot but out last name ends in “ley” so it would not sound right. I do like [name]Arden[/name] and have been considering [name]Hazel[/name]… [name]Ah[/name] so tough!
I love the name [name]Linden[/name]! it is so cute, I also love Lindley, but I would omit the d and just do Linley. I also like [name]Willow[/name] and [name]Winter[/name], do not like [name]Violet[/name] for a first name, but it’s cute, and [name]Harper[/name] is to popular. You have some great names!
This is not my usual style at all, but I really like [name]Linden[/name]. And the nickname [name]Lindy[/name] would be so cute. It sounds feminine to my ears, but I can see why it strikes others as masculine. ([name]Lyndon[/name] [name]Johnson[/name]). I think it’s a very lovely name. I probably wouldn’t use it because I like more established names, but that is just me.
I’ve long loved the name [name]Linden[/name] for a girl. I say go for it.
I have [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Wynter[/name] on my middle names for girls list because DH won’t put them on the first names list. I love them both. [name]Waverly[/name] is on my list for firsts.
It does seem lots of people consider [name]Violet[/name] but I don’t know actually know any. I love [name]Violet[/name] since Purple is one of my favourite colours and I love [name]Vi[/name] for a nn. [name]Harper[/name] has grown on me but I’m afraid of it’s recent popularity. I like [name]Megan[/name] and [name]Natalie[/name] too.
[name]Willow[/name] - all I can think of is [name]Willow[/name] [name]Smith[/name] and I can’t stand her!
[name]Verona[/name] and [name]Delilah[/name] are on my middle names list as well.
[name]Linden[/name] to me is all boy-- like someone else mentioned: [name]Lyndon[/name] B. [name]Johnson[/name] the U.S. President.
Someone else mentioned [name]Lindy[/name], I’ve heard of this as a stand alone name (not a nnn) and I think it’s cute!
[name]Winter[/name], [name]Violet[/name], and [name]Willow[/name] are all ok… not my style, but they’re nice. I’d vote for [name]Lindy[/name] with [name]Violet[/name] as my second choice. Good luck!
I can see that you like nature names a lot. If you like Linden, go for it! I’ve actually never met a guy or girl named Linden so even though its nms I think it’ll work fine.

Thanks everyone!
I think of [name]Linden[/name] as a boys’ name.
I quite like [name]Winter[/name], [name]Winnie[/name] is cute for a little girl.
To me it sounds masculine, but it also makes me think of the show The Killing. The lead basically goes by [name]Linden[/name] but it’s her last name.
[name]Linden[/name] is adorable–
[name]Do[/name] you like [name]Willa[/name]? I think its still very similar to [name]Willow[/name] but to me, [name]Willa[/name] is a bit more feminine. I also love [name]Linden[/name] as well and think that it could be cute on a girl!
