Linus

What do you think of the name [name]Linus[/name]?

I don’t get it. He’s such a great Peanuts character, but mostly I think of the thumb-sucking and the security blanket.
I guess the -us ending gives it ancient Greek heft, and with its clean sound it fits in with names like [name]Levi[/name] and [name]Silas[/name].

I love it. I love boys’ names ending in -s like [name]Silas[/name], [name]Linus[/name], [name]Miles[/name], [name]Cassius[/name].

Oh, and it’s a saint’s name. And [name]Linus[/name] the Peanuts character was full childlike wisdom - he was going to turn his security blanket into a sports jacket when he gets older.

I like it. It makes me think of [name]Humphrey[/name] [name]Bogart[/name]'s/[name]Harrison[/name] [name]Ford[/name]'s character in [name]Sabrina[/name].

I love [name]Linus[/name]!!! It is so underused and ages so well. It does have a slight “wimpy” image but nothing too strong that he could not overcome

I like the original pronunciation “[name]Lee[/name]-nus”. Also it doesn’t scream Peanuts as much.

I love [name]Linus[/name]! I think of both the Peanuts character (who was smart and likable) and the character from [name]Sabrina[/name] (who was also smart and likable.)

I know a 1.5 yo [name]Linus[/name]. Mum and dad love the name still.

It’s exactly how I feel right now! I’m trying to thin out my boys’ list so my girls’ list isn’t so disproportionately short…

I love [name]Linus[/name]! It’s so quirky and adorable! If I ever wanted to honor my grandfather (I know you know my whole drama with my grandfather! haha), I would use [name]Linus[/name] for the “L”, I’m almost certain. [name]Lincoln[/name] would be my back up option, but I like [name]Linus[/name] so much more. I love [name]Linus[/name] for you, too–it seems to really mesh the style of [name]Ezra[/name] and [name]Amias[/name] with [name]George[/name] and [name]Charles[/name] and such.

Of course I love it. It’s one of those names that everyone knows how to spell and has heard of, yet, nobody actually has if you kwim. We honestly get compliments on his name constantly, and it fits him. So glad we chose it, I think its an awesome name that scares people off due to the whole Peanuts thing, but if [name]Matilda[/name], [name]Eloise[/name], [name]Oscar[/name], and [name]Oliver[/name] can part ways with their characters, I don’t see why people have such a hangup with [name]Linus[/name].
(And my Catholic friends have told me there is a saint [name]Linus[/name]…funny since [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Sebastian[/name] are also saints names…)

I kind of like its quirkiness, but I can’t get passed it being [name]Buster[/name] Bluth’s preferred euphemism for a certain male body part.
