So…I am trying to add some new flavor to my somewhat boring boy’s list. Out of these, which ones do you think are worthy enough of first name status?
[name_u]Aidan[/name_u] (Not into the whole [name_m]Kaden[/name_m]/[name_u]Jaden[/name_u]/[name_m]Braden[/name_m] thing, but I thought this would be a cool way to get the NN [name_u]Danny[/name_u].)
[name_m]Aleph[/name_m]
[name_m]Andrew[/name_m] (Too dated?)
[name_m]Angus[/name_m]
[name_m]Ansel[/name_m]/[name_m]Anselm[/name_m]
[name_m]Aramis[/name_m]
[name_m]Arjun[/name_m]
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]
[name_f]Atherton[/name_f] (This one has personal meaning.)
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
Aurélien (Currently LOVING this one, but is it too feminine?)
[name_m]Austin[/name_m]
[name_m]Andrew[/name_m] is a classic name. You can never go wrong with a classic. You can always use [name_u]Drew[/name_u] as a nickname. [name_m]Austin[/name_m] is nice. I have never heard of [name_m]Aurelien[/name_m] before I say if you love it use it.
We have an [name_m]Andrew[/name_m]. When we were trying to decide on his name, I had also worried that it might be dated (it’s my husband’s middle name, which is one reason we chose it), but it’s a classic and seems to be getting more popular again in our area. [name_m]Andrew[/name_m]'s twin is [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], but while that name is in the top ten here, we’ve never had another little [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] in any of their classes/programs, and at least one other [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] a few times. We don’t use a nickname for him, and all but one of the adult Andrews I know go by [name_m]Andrew[/name_m]. I don’t mind [name_u]Drew[/name_u] as a nickname, but whether he uses a nickname will be up to him as he gets older.
I really like the name [name_m]Austin[/name_m], and like another berry mentioned, [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] is a classic.
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] is handsome and certainly list worthy, but I like [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] even better.
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] is nice enough, but my preference leans towards [name_m]Amadeus[/name_m]. I’m not sure I am gutsy enough to use it as a first, but definitely a middle name option.
The others aren’t really my taste.
here are some other A names to consider:
[name_m]Alaric[/name_m]
[name_m]Ace[/name_m]…sometimes I like to shorten [name_m]Alaric[/name_m] to [name_m]Ace[/name_m]
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]…classic
[name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Aries[/name_m]
[name_m]Abel[/name_m]
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u], and other [name_u]August[/name_u]-y names
[name_m]Anderson[/name_m]
[name_m]Adriel[/name_m]
[name_u]Auburn[/name_u]
[name_u]Auden[/name_u]
[name_u]Arden[/name_u]
[name_u]Addison[/name_u]
[name_m]Azrael[/name_m]/[name_m]Azriel[/name_m]
[name_m]Anders[/name_m]
[name_f]Amani[/name_f]
Ashford
[name_u]Ashton[/name_u]
[name_u]Ashby[/name_u]
I love [name_m]Angus[/name_m], [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]! [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] is, of course, overused, but I like the idea of nickname [name_u]Danny[/name_u]. I wouldn’t say [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] is dated, it’s a classic.
My favorite from your list is [name_m]Austin[/name_m]. I personally love [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_m]Archer[/name_m], preferring [name_m]Asher[/name_m] slightly.
