Literally can't find a name I love, please help

Hello … I’m [name]Kristie[/name] and my husband and I are expecting our first child and I literally can’t find a name that I [name]LOVE[/name]. There are several names that I like but nothing that really makes me go wow I can picture calling my daughter this for the rest of my life and I hate it. I feel like whatever name I pick I’m going to spend my life second guessing. I’d love any suggestions you guys can think of. My style is pretty feminine, I’m not really a fan of unisex names and tend to prefer girlier ones. Here are some names that I like but again, don’t love, so any feedback would be great. Thank you!

Hmmm, I see two types of names here, girly and slightly exotic and traditional girls names. (I’m sure some of the other ladies will do a better job of describing the types of names.) Here are some suggestions for you:

girly exotic:

Traditional Girly names:

Let me know what you think of these:

[name]Hi[/name]! You have some beautiful names on your list! I put together some of my favorites with some mn suggestions. [name]Hope[/name] this helps!

[name]Carolina[/name] [name]Paige[/name] or [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Paige[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Noelle[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Catherine[/name] [name]Paige[/name]
[name]Cecelia[/name] [name]Noelle[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Mia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Elena[/name] [name]Giselle[/name]
[name]Natalia[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Natalia[/name] [name]Giselle[/name]
[name]Samantha[/name] [name]Paige[/name]

tarat3232 I really like [name]Evelina[/name], I’ve never actually heard it before. I also like [name]Amelia[/name] a lot thank you!

[name]Leah[/name] I like a lot of your suggestions, particularly [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Vivian[/name], [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Stella[/name], I’ll run them by my husband thank you!

And kyemsma thank you so much for the middle name additions! I really like [name]Eva[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] from your ideas, thank you!

The only thing holding me back from using [name]Eva[/name] is that I’m not usually into such short names, they look kind of incomplete to me when written but I do really really like it. And [name]Lydia[/name] is definitely in my top 5 choices, however, sometimes when I say it a lot it starts to like let-ee-uh instead if lid-ee-uh but that might just be because when I like a name I say it over and over to see how it would sound if I were actually talking to my daughter haha.

I’m glad I helped! I just love [name]Eva[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] or [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]!
They are beautiful, classic names that will suit your daughter from baby to toddler, teenager to adult!

Here are a few you may like:

[name]Ramona[/name] nn [name]Mona[/name]

[name]Willa[/name] -(this one seems to get a lot of love on this board. I think you’ll like it because it’s feminine but only two syllables so still fitting on a real girl, and it has a slightly exotic feel like some of your others)

[name]Matilda[/name] nn [name]Tilda[/name], [name]Mattie[/name], [name]Twila[/name], [name]Mae[/name], [name]Minna[/name]

[name]Linnea[/name] nn [name]Lynn[/name], Linney, [name]Lina[/name] - (has a bit of the same vibe that [name]Willa[/name] does but is slightly more girly because of it’s length)

[name]Lucilla[/name] or [name]Lucille[/name] nn [name]Lucy[/name] or [name]Cilla[/name]

[name]Jessamine[/name] nn [name]Jessa[/name], [name]Minnie[/name] - (this one reminds me of [name]Samantha[/name] but has a much prettier feel to it)

[name]Isadora[/name] nn [name]Izzy[/name], [name]Dora[/name], [name]Isa[/name], [name]Isadore[/name]

[name]Catriona[/name] nn [name]Cat[/name]/[name]Kat[/name], [name]Rina[/name], Catri - (much like [name]Catherine[/name] but a different kind of feminine with an exotic feel)

[name]Cosette[/name] / [name]Cozette[/name] nn [name]Etta[/name], [name]Ettie[/name], Cosy/Cosi

[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

I’m so glad you like [name]Evelina[/name]! It is a personal fav. It just seems so happy and sweet!

[name]Just[/name] thought I would add that I am a [name]Lydia[/name] lover. So sweet!

Hmmm [name]Ramona[/name], I like that too, thanks [name]Ginger[/name] and [name]Cosette[/name] as well … funny because I just saw a children’s production of [name]Les[/name] Miserables because my friend was directing it

I put a bunch of alternatives next to each name, to see if you like

[name]Elizabeth[/name] - [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Elisabeth[/name]

You’ve got many lovely names on your list, but here’s one I thought you might really like:

[name]Cerelia[/name] - “relating to springtime”

Is baby a [name]Spring[/name] baby? Regardless, I think it is a beautiful, interesting, feminine choice for a little girl that will age well. It is certainly unique, but not so unfamiliar because it sounds like [name]Sarah[/name] and [name]Leah[/name] - two very common names. And, it leaves [name]Lia[/name] open as a very accessible nickname option…

So, let me know if you like [name]Cerelia[/name]! I think [name]Cerelia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] is beautiful for a girl, if you have a shorter surname, whereas [name]Cerelia[/name] [name]Jane[/name] is lovely for a longer surname.

Others you may like include [name]Annora[/name], [name]Cassia[/name], [name]Fiona[/name], [name]Helena[/name], [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Miranda[/name], [name]Ophelia[/name], and [name]Viola[/name].

Take care!

[name]Lemon[/name]

What about:

Okay. (: Ill try to help as best as I can…

[name]Louise[/name]/ [name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]/ [name]Juliette[/name]

what about [name]Briella[/name] [name]Eve[/name]? Or [name]Skyla[/name] [name]Eve[/name]?

The one name that seems to fit with your taste (particularly alongside [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Cecelia[/name], [name]Carolina[/name], and [name]Elizabeth[/name]) is [name]Virginia[/name]. It’s a classic, but it’s never been overused. It’s feminine and frilly, but with the very earthy “[name]Ginny[/name]” or even “[name]Ginger[/name]” as possible nicknames. Unlike [name]Eva[/name], it isn’t rocketing up the name charts, and yet it’s familiar to everyone.

Thank you everyone so much for your lists and suggestions, I really appreciate it and have been looking over them carefully. [name]Lemon[/name] and Dizzy I liked your suggestions of [name]Cerelia[/name] and [name]Virginia[/name], however my husband nixed both. He’s into simpler names like [name]Elizabeth[/name] where I prefer the slightly more exotic names so it’s been hard to come up with a good compromise.

One more question, sorry I’m so indecisive … Is [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Vivian[/name] too rhymey because of the repetitive “Lid” “[name]Viv[/name]” sounds? Because I really like both names and that way I could call her the nickname “Lyv” or “[name]Liv[/name]” because I’m really not a fan of any of the [name]Lydia[/name] nicknames, which is one of the things holding me back from using it

I adore [name]Lydia[/name], too! It is my favorite name for a girl, and I plan to use it - if I have an agreeable man - for my first daughter! I’m not huge on nicknames, either, and I would call her, quite simply, [name]Lydia[/name]…

[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Vivian[/name] certainly isn’t terrible, but I wouldn’t call it ideal. You know, you can use the [name]Liv[/name] nickname with any middle name beginning with V, and I think [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Violet[/name] would be perfect.

Take care!

[name]Lemon[/name]

Yes the combination of [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Violet[/name] did run through my head, the only problem is I’ve never been a fan of [name]Violet[/name] and I’m really not sure why, but thank you for the suggestion. I was thinking [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] but I don’t know if the “ia” endings are too much.

I also love the names [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Vivian[/name]! [name]BOTH[/name] are on my very short list if I ever have another daughter.

BUT, I really don’t like the way they sound together. It’s not just the Lyd and [name]Viv[/name]; it’s also the repeating ia sounds as well.

I wonder if you’d like the name [name]Lavinia[/name]? It’s a little bit more unusual than [name]Lydia[/name] or [name]Vivian[/name], which gives it more of an exotic feel, but I think it also shares some of the vintage-y feel of [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Vivian[/name] as well, and it certainly shares the understated glamor. It has all of the sounds you like, and lends itself perfectly to nn [name]Liv[/name] (or [name]Nia[/name] as an alternative).
