Last name Rodgers. Big sis is [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f].
Thoughts or suggestions on…
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]- too many Ns with [name_f]Anna[/name_f]?
[name_u]Ryan[/name_u] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]- I know it might be kind of R heavy with LN Rodgers. Am I overthinking?
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]- hubby’s reigning fav. [name_m]Feel[/name_m] it’s a bit biblical with [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and a little boring but certainly doable.
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]- recent thought. [name_m]Just[/name_m] kinda like it. But it doesn’t have much traction yet.
[name_u]Michael[/name_u]- is DHs name. Its just kind of in the mix as an easy possibility if DH and I can’t agree on anything else. We both know we’d be ok with it, but it’s definitely not feeling like “the one.”
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is sweet.
Here are my thoughts on your boy list:
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]- too many Ns with [name_f]Anna[/name_f]?-I suppose [name_f]Anna[/name_f] & [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] are a little ‘n’ heavy together, but it’s fine. It’s not like they rhyme, & they’re the same kind of style. [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] Rodgers sounds great. [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] is a handsome solid name. It’s the right amount of strong & gentle, which I love. Would you use a nn? [name_f]Anna[/name_f] & [name_m]Nate[/name_m] are perfect. I also like the nn [name_m]Nils[/name_m] if you want something a little more unique.
[name_u]Ryan[/name_u] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]- I know it might be kind of R heavy with LN Rodgers. Am I overthinking?-[name_u]Ryan[/name_u] Rodgers doesn’t sound that great, but it’s not horrible. I just don’t think that [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] is all that interesting. It’s kind of 90s. There are a lot of better two syllable Irish ‘n’ sounding names out there.
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]- hubby’s reigning fav. [name_m]Feel[/name_m] it’s a bit biblical with [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and a little boring but certainly doable.-I think that this is handsome. I love [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], but am not a huge fan of [name_m]Joe[/name_m] or [name_u]Joey[/name_u] for some reason. Are you? If you don’t like them, they may be hard to avoid.
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]- recent thought. [name_m]Just[/name_m] kinda like it. But it doesn’t have much traction yet.-Very cute. A little more unexpected than some of the others. Kind of nerdy & quirky in a fun way.
[name_u]Michael[/name_u]- is DHs name. Its just kind of in the mix as an easy possibility if DH and I can’t agree on anything else. We both know we’d be ok with it, but it’s definitely not feeling like “the one.”-In general I think that Jrs. are a hassle. Maybe you could use the nn [name_m]Mac/name_m?
To be honest, I love [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. However, it can easily be seen as tired and boring depending on what you pair her with, sibling-wise. “Granpa” classics are making a comeback and are a lot less boring. [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] and [name_u]Michael[/name_u] are names that basically every male in my generation had (now in my 30’s). It makes poor [name_f]Anna[/name_f] seem underwhelming if paired with one of these.
To put it in perspective, [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is so chic and interesting yet still a classic. [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is more of a “grandma” classic so it doesn’t seem boring. If you had chosen [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], while both pretty, both are also forgettable due to all the Elizabeths and Katherines currently still walking around.
Here’s some suggestions to pair with sister [name_f]Anna[/name_f]:
I don’t think that there’s a problem with [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] ~ if it was a short name like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] there would have been a problem with the two n ~
[name_u]Ryan[/name_u] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] is a really good combination. I believe that both of them having a small and cute first name will be very convenient in the future
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] is a lovely name too… I really like its sound. I don’t think that the Bible connection will affect them
I don’t think that [name_m]Simon[/name_m] will work with [name_f]Anna[/name_f]… The Chipmunks combination has effected me a lot
I think that [name_u]Michael[/name_u] really suits with [name_f]Anna[/name_f] with the nn [name_m]Mike[/name_m]… I think it would work very good
But my favourite is [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]
I understand where pp is coming from as far as pairing [name_f]Anna[/name_f] with something chic-antique. If it doesn’t bother you that a sibset is common or “forgettable” then I think [name_u]Michael[/name_u], [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] and [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] are perfectly nice names. Coming from my own perspective and taste, I would choose a name that is well-heard but a little less “everywhere” throughout the decades. I think this would bring out the classiness of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and make it a little more fun for you to choose a name you don’t hear from every age group all the time.
I like previous suggestions of [name_m]Russell[/name_m], [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] & [name_m]Reuben[/name_m]. I also like
My favourite on your list is [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]. I love pp’s suggestions of [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] (I do like it with Rodgers too), [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Euan[/name_m], and [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]. I like [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] too but they collide a bit with Rodgers. Maybe you would like [name_m]Julian[/name_m]?
My favourite is [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]! It’s a little ‘n’ heavy but still doable with [name_f]Anna[/name_f], especially if you use the nickname [name_m]Nate[/name_m]. It’s a sweet, handsome and classic name with lovely nickname options.
[name_u]Michael[/name_u] [name_m]Simon[/name_m] I htink fits best and maybe use a nickname to seperate him from your DH. ([name_u]Mel[/name_u] or [name_m]Mick[/name_m])
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and [name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Simon[/name_m] are well balanced and quirky cute together in that they are both sweet and classic names, a little unexpected together but also well matched.
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] is ok, I am more drawn to [name_m]Nate[/name_m], [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Nate[/name_m] are sweet together similarily to [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Simon[/name_m].
more suggestions:
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m] or [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Caleb[/name_m]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] ([name_u]Rowan[/name_u] as an updated [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]?)
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Edwin[/name_m]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Philip[/name_m]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
My favourite from your list is [name_m]Simon[/name_m]. my best suggestion is [name_m]Edwin[/name_m].
I feel like [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] are too close, as they are both two syllables with one of the syllables being [name_f]Ann[/name_f].
