Hello. I need some help with a name for our son’s sibling (if a boy). I have posted about this before but, I guess since [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] is a more unusual name, I got lots of unusual name suggestions like [name_m]Thadeaus[/name_m], [name_u]Constantine[/name_u], etc.
I do want name suggestions that make a good sibset with [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] but I want to make the sibset a little more mainstream (or about the same) rather than making it more unusual. I’m really stuck on suggestions. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband loves [name_m]Archer[/name_m] but I have ruled it (and all other “A” names) out.
Some of the names I like - I don’t love any yet - are below. Please can you suggest others that sound good with [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] (nickname [name_m]Augie[/name_m]). Thank you so much!
Also, no names that rhyme with or sound too similar to [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] (anything ending in “in” or “en” is out), nothing starting with D… Thanks!!!
I have to say, I completely agree with your preference to avoid what, to me, look like “gladiator combos,” such as [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] & [name_u]Constantine[/name_u], or [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] & [name_m]Thadeaus[/name_m].
I also really like [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] & [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], as well as [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] & [name_u]Everett[/name_u], from your list!! Best wishes!!!
From your list I like [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] & [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u].
I’m afraid I cannot guess how mainstream you mean. What level? Mainstream is region-specific. Where I live the name [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] is equally mainstream, equally acceptable, as [name_u]Constantine[/name_u] or [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m]. It may be that people were offering you names not unusual at all. [name_m]Just[/name_m] unusual to you, where you live.

Thank you so much everyone! I should probably clarify my “mainstream” comment - I live in a liberal part of the US where anything pretty much goes in terms of names. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] a lot of names that were suggested in my other post (I think [name_u]Constantine[/name_u], [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] and [name_m]Tiberius[/name_m], for example, are awesome names) but, like one of the posters above, I don’t want my sons to sound like a team of gladiators I love a lot of the suggestions you have all give, they are just the sorts of names I was hoping for. I actually love [name_m]Maximus[/name_m] the most but fear it may rhyme too much with our last name [name_f]My[/name_f] husband has vetoed one of my favorite names - [name_m]Milo[/name_m] - so it’s great to get some validation on my list and some other awesome ideas. Thanks SO much!!
