Little brother for Maeve

We are expecting our 2nd in about 9 weeks (not sure if its a boy or girl).

Family names are quite varied, but important, and I would like to use where possible (even if only in the middle). [name]John[/name], [name]Reid[/name], [name]Warren[/name], [name]Vincent[/name].

I want to avoid popular if I can and whilst Irish is fine its not essential. Short and strong manly names are my preference with a ready made nickname …

Here are some combinations I like:

[name]John[/name] [name]Reid[/name] ([name]Johnny[/name])
[name]Joseph[/name] [name]Warren[/name] (nn [name]Joe[/name] or [name]Joey[/name])
[name]Vincent[/name] [name]Reid[/name] (nn [name]Vinnie[/name] when young [name]Vince[/name] when older)
[name]Rafferty[/name] [name]John[/name] (nn Raffa - wondering if this is too out there though)

I would love to hear peoples thoughts and any other suggestions!

I love the name [name]John[/name] nn [name]Johnny[/name]

[name]John[/name] [name]Vincent[/name] would be a handsome name.

Also love the name [name]Reid[/name].

[name]Reid[/name] [name]Warren[/name] is a solid name.

Also love your combo of [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Warren[/name]…
good luck (:

My favorite on your list is [name]Vincent[/name] [name]Reid[/name]!
2nd favorite is [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Warren[/name].
3rd is [name]John[/name] [name]Reid[/name].
[name]Rafferty[/name] and [name]Ned[/name] are not so much my style.

All of the names on your list are handsome choices. I would say [name]Vincent[/name], [name]Rafferty[/name] and [name]Ned[/name] are the least common. I think [name]Vincent[/name] is especially handsome and [name]Vinnie[/name] is adorable. For [name]Rafferty[/name] I like the nicknames [name]Raff[/name] and [name]Raffy[/name].
other ideas-
[name]Abram[/name] [name]John[/name]- [name]Abe[/name] or [name]Bram[/name]
[name]Andrew[/name] [name]Vincent[/name]- [name]Drew[/name]
[name]Calvin[/name] [name]Reid[/name]- [name]Cal[/name]
[name]Oscar[/name] [name]Warren[/name]- [name]Ozzie[/name]
[name]Benjamin[/name] [name]Roy[/name]- [name]Benji[/name], [name]Benny[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name] [name]Vincent[/name]- [name]Theo[/name] or [name]Teddy[/name]

[name]John[/name] [name]Reid[/name] ([name]Johnny[/name])
[name]Joseph[/name] [name]Warren[/name] (nn [name]Joe[/name] or [name]Joey[/name])
[name]Vincent[/name] [name]Reid[/name] (nn [name]Vinnie[/name] when young [name]Vince[/name] when older)
I think you’ve got three great options here, and there’s no need to add a non family name. This way you honor more people and your son’s name is a strong tie for him to his family. I also like the option of [name]John[/name] [name]Vincent[/name], I feel like it’s more balanced than [name]John[/name] [name]Reid[/name]. I’ve been trying to think of which goes best together, [name]Johnnie[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name], [name]Joey[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name], or [name]Vince[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name]… I don’t know, they all work well. I’d probably go with [name]John[/name] [name]Vincent[/name] first and [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Warren[/name] second if I had to choose. [name]John[/name], while a historically common name, doesn’t seem like a particularly popular choice with parents these days, and [name]Johnny[/name] is just great.

Where we live a [name]Vinnie[/name] was a teenage hood with an ethnic background, so [name]Vincent[/name] is lost on me. Sorry. We have a saying ‘rafferty’s rules’ in other words anything goes, so again [name]Rafferty[/name] may get a hard time here.

On the other hand [name]John[/name] is a handsome name and [name]Jonathan[/name] is even more handsome and I think [name]Jonathan[/name] works better with [name]Maeve[/name].

I see a [name]Tristan[/name] as [name]Maeve[/name]'s brother.

or

[name]Douglas[/name]
[name]Kieran[/name]
[name]Grant[/name]
[name]Lachlan[/name]
[name]Connor[/name]
[name]Billy[/name] ([name]William[/name])
[name]Barnaby[/name]
[name]Edwin[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name]
[name]Toby[/name] I love this one and it is perfect with [name]Maeve[/name]!
[name]Angus[/name]
[name]Charles[/name]

PS Because [name]Maeve[/name] is such an underused beautiful name and therefore stands out from the crowd I would like to see your son with a similar kind of name, ie one that stands out and is underused, a name that sounds as classy as [name]Maeve[/name]. I see names in colour so for me they have to match that way too.

All the best hope we have helped a little.
