Little brother for Tait & Leo?

[name]Hi[/name]!

I’m new to nameberry and have been trying to find another interesting boys name. We are due with our third boy in march 2013. My two older sons are [name]Tait[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name] (family tradition to follow on fathers middle name with the boys!) I love that both of their names aren’t hugely popular here in Australia and also sound quite masculine.

I really love [name]Archer[/name] & [name]Harvey[/name] but hubby is not sold on either of these.

The only name we can both agree on is [name]Jude[/name] but we do worry it sounds a little feminine next to tait & [name]Leo[/name].

What do the nameberries think? Is [name]Jude[/name] too feminine? Any other suggestions for names that go with my sibset?

Thanks for your input!!

[name]Hi[/name], fellow Aussie!

Can I just say that [name]Tait[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] are absolutely wonderful names! I used to be more into the vintagey Edwards and Theodores, but now my taste is becoming more clean and modern just like your boys’ names.

I lovelovelove [name]Archer[/name] and [name]Jude[/name], however I’m not too sold on [name]Harvey[/name]. I knew of a bogan family with the surname so I don’t really see [name]Harvey[/name] in a positive light, but then again that’s mainly a personal association. [name]Archer[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] on the other hand fit perfectly with [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Tait[/name]. I don’t find [name]Jude[/name] feminine at all  Plus it has wonderful namesakes in the form of the Beatles song and the [name]Bob[/name]-Dylanesque character Cate Blanchett played in “I’m Not There” (don’t worry, she was playing a man). Overall a very rocker name.

Regarding [name]Archer[/name] I’m surprised your husband doesn’t like it - it’s cool and boyish, with the benefit of the nm “[name]Archie[/name]”. A winning name if you ask me  Another name similar in sound and principle I’d like to suggest is [name]Fletcher[/name]. It’s not very popular here in Australia and it’s meaning is “arrow-maker”, so it’s also not that much of a deviation from [name]Archer[/name].

Other names I think would go nicely with [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Tait[/name]:
[name]Ari[/name], [name]Knox[/name], [name]West[/name], [name]Stellan[/name], [name]Blaise[/name], [name]Leif[/name], [name]Miller[/name], [name]Jasper[/name], [name]Rex[/name], [name]Amos[/name], [name]Jett[/name], [name]Beckett[/name], [name]Wilder[/name], [name]Alfie[/name], [name]Elliot[/name], [name]Hugo[/name], [name]Remy[/name], [name]Matthias[/name], [name]Alec[/name], [name]Monty[/name], [name]Christian[/name], [name]Ford[/name], [name]Asher[/name], [name]Quill[/name], [name]Bishop[/name], [name]Fox[/name], [name]Roman[/name], [name]Cy[/name], [name]Miles[/name], [name]Axel[/name], [name]Clark[/name], [name]Rafferty[/name], [name]Louis[/name], [name]Flynn[/name]/[name]Finn[/name].

Congratulations on your upcoming little boy!

[name]Jude[/name] isn’t a feminine name at all, but very much a boy’s name. In fact, it is one of my most favourite names. I think it goes nicely with [name]Tait[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] and also fits well with [name]Benjamin[/name]

I think [name]Jude[/name] would be wonderful with brothers [name]Tait[/name] and [name]Leo[/name]! [name]Jude[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name] is a great name and not feminine at all. If you’re not sold on [name]Jude[/name] here are some others I thought went well with [name]Tait[/name] and [name]Leo[/name]:

[name]Grant[/name]
[name]Blake[/name]
[name]Bryce[/name]
[name]Blaine[/name]
[name]Reid[/name]
[name]Gavin[/name]
[name]Miles[/name]
[name]Asher[/name]
[name]Seth[/name]

I almost yearn for a longer name after [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Tait[/name]. Something like [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Nathaniel[/name], [name]Sebastian[/name], [name]William[/name].

I think [name]Jude[/name] works great with [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Tait[/name]. I also really like [name]Miles[/name].
other ideas-
[name]Graham[/name]
[name]Judd[/name]
[name]Beau[/name]
[name]Garret[/name]
[name]Dean[/name]
[name]Corbin[/name]
[name]Declan[/name]
[name]Emmett[/name]

I like the trim, modern feeling of [name]Tait[/name] and [name]Leo[/name]. I think in the UK & [name]OZ[/name] Judiths are often called [name]Jude[/name], instead of [name]Judy[/name] like in the States, which is why you might think it has a more feminine feeling than us Americans.

[name]Penn[/name]
[name]Reed[/name]
[name]Rory[/name]
[name]Shai[/name]
[name]West[/name]
[name]Zane[/name]

all with different starting and ending sounds that his brothers.

I’m with everybody else on [name]Jude[/name], but in my experience, once that “oh no it might be feminine” thought enters the DH’s mind, the battle is lost

I like suggestions of [name]Miles[/name] and [name]Reid[/name], among others. [name]Arch[/name] might be a less common alternative to [name]Archer[/name].

Thanks for your input! [name]Leo[/name] was actually going to be [name]Reid[/name] for about 5 minutes before we decided he looked like a [name]Leo[/name] instead!

I think we’ll keep [name]Reid[/name] in the short list and hubby is liking the suggestion of [name]Miles[/name] too.

[name]Glad[/name] to know most of you still think [name]Jude[/name] is masculine enough. [name]Ran[/name] the name past my 3 year old and he said “what? Dude?”!

Thanks everyone

Hahaha, sometimes 3 year olds have a way of killing a name you’ve been worrying over for months – though I’m sure in his view, Dude would be a wonderful name. My husband and I wanted to name our third [name]Ned[/name] and our other kids said, “What? Nerd?” That was the end of that.
