My husband and I are expecting our first baby in a few months! We’re going to be having a girl, but coming up with names for her has got me thinking about all the names I want to use in the future. I have a lot of ideas for girls, but I’m absolutely stumped on a boy name, and I definitely want a little boy before too long.
Our first girl will most likely be named [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Fable[/name_u], and other names we like for girls are [name_f]Hester[/name_f], [name_f]Nona[/name_f], and [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f]. In general we like names that tend a bit towards the unusual, but not super unheard of and not with strange spellings.
Some names we liked but had to rule out:
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] (S names = unfortunate initials)
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] (too close to husband’s name)
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] (hate nicknames [name_m]Nate[/name_m]/[name_m]Nathan[/name_m] but worry it’s too long)
[name_m]Julian[/name_m] (far too similar to [name_f]Juliet[/name_f])
Names we’re on the fence about:
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] (we don’t want to repeat initials if we can help it, but like the name on its own)
[name_u]Noah[/name_u] (if we don’t end up using [name_f]Nona[/name_f] this is a contender, not sure if [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_u]Noah[/name_u] sound like siblings)
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] (too common, but love the sound)
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u]
[name_m]Milo[/name_m]
So basically we can’t have any names starting with S, and I’d prefer to avoid names that start with J but if I love the name I’ll consider it. Right now I’d say [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], and [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] are my top three. What are your thoughts on all of these? I’d love to hear your suggestions!
