Three days earlier than expected, [name_u]James[/name_u] and I welcomed our darling little girl [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Rue[/name_u] into the world during the early hours of the 14th of [name_u]August[/name_u]. [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] weighed in at 3.2kgs [7.05lbs] and is doing well.
[name_u]James[/name_u] and I chose [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] as her first name a few hours after she was born because her early arrival was as her name suggests, a delightful surprise. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] followed through as a middle to honour my late grandmother who died three months before she arrived [and less sweetly, the [name_f]Lana[/name_f] del [name_u]Rey[/name_u] song she was conceived to]. [name_u]Rue[/name_u] actually does honour my grandmother as well, since she used to keep pots and pots of the stuff in her garden, though we both loved the Hunger Games connection. [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f] [name_u]Collins[/name_u]’ [name_u]Rue[/name_u] was such a sweet, brave character that we hope our little girl can look up to.
We would also like to thank everyone who helped us by giving us advice in the first few early months of name choosing about how to find middle ground [[name_u]James[/name_u] and I have very different tastes] – you’ve made this whole process much easier.
