We are set to welcome our second little girl this fall and are even more flummoxed than we were first time around. We could use your expertise! The guidelines we are working within:
Nothing in the top 150. We both have very popular names from the 80s.
Absolutely no virtue names, ie [name_f]Patience[/name_f], [name_f]Constance[/name_f], [name_f]Verity[/name_f]. Dad hates them.
Must work with [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f], which is our rock solid middle. So a lot of names I like, [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]-[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]-[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]-are out.
No food or animal names, ie [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_u]Wren[/name_u], etc.
No unisex names.
We like Britishy oldlady names, two or three syllables. The one name we both adore but agree cannot inflict on a little girl is [name_f]Ursula[/name_f]. Our oldest is [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], to give you a sense of our naming bravery.
[name_f]Letitia[/name_f] was my first thought. I really like [name_f]Letitia[/name_f], [name_f]Francine[/name_f], [name_f]Roxana[/name_f], [name_f]Verena[/name_f], [name_f]Claudia[/name_f], [name_f]Martina[/name_f], [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] and [name_f]Araminta[/name_f].
[name_f]Letitia[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Francine[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] (I think this is pretty!)
[name_f]Millicent[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] (although [name_f]Millie[/name_f] is becoming a more popular name, and a nn for [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], which is nearing the top 150 now, I believe?)
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Roxana[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Verena[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Claudia[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Martina[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Carlotta[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Devorah[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Frederica[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Rowena[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Paulette[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Araminta[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
I was going to include [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] but I wondered if [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is really popular, now. Same with the [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names. I love [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] and [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]! There is something about [name_f]Claudia[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] together that sounds sophisticated! I think [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] is too close to [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], especially said aloud.
I’m no help other than to say we are trying to name a sister for [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] too, and we’re having such a hard time!! None of our the names on our list sound good [name_f]Emanuelle[/name_f], but I’m going to keep my eye on this thread for more ideas!
First thought was [name_f]Una[/name_f]. [name_f]Una[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]?
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Nola[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Zara[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] (I like this a lot.)
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Petra[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] (I think the alliteration of this works really nicely.)
