Little sister for Isla and Oliver - in hospital now and need help with name!

We are in the hospital now, but haven’t decided on the name! Big sibs are [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] ([name_u]Ollie[/name_u]). Here are our top four:

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] “[name_f]Nellie[/name_f]” [name_u]Jean[/name_u] - [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] was my grandma’s name and I was very close to her. Worried [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] and [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] are too close in sound.

[name_f]Frances[/name_f] “[name_u]Frankie[/name_u]” [name_u]Jean[/name_u] - my great-aunt [name_f]Frances[/name_f] was another great grandmother figure in my life.

[name_f]Arwen[/name_f] “[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]” [name_f]Frances[/name_f] - Not a family name, but another vowel name and we like the nickname.

[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] - family name, but not as close.

Please share your thoughts! We need to choose soon!

I love [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]!!!

I really love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]. Unfortunately, [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] and [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] are too close in my opinion. Would you consider [name_f]Nell[/name_f]? It’s still a nod to your grandma [name_f]Nellie[/name_f].

If you’re not liking that option, I do like [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] as nicknames.

[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] is a little tired these days.

[name_f]Arwen[/name_f] or [name_f]Frances[/name_f]!!

I personally don’t think [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] and [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] are too close, especially because the full names are so different. If you want to use [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], use it! I would actually have more of a problem with [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] looking similar.
I’m not a fan of [name_f]Frances[/name_f] - but again, if you like it, go for it. It’s a perfectly good name. But I think [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] would be a lovely combination!

I like [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]!! You could also do [name_u]Penny[/name_u] or [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] if you were worried about being too close. [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] sound great together, imo!

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] is my favorite! I second the idea of calling her [name_f]Nell[/name_f] instead.

[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] ‘[name_u]Frankie[/name_u]’ is perfect with [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]! My second choice would be [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u].

I like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] best. I would use the nickname [name_f]Nell[/name_f]. ollie, isla and nell. Would you consider any of these names? I like them because they continue the beginning vowel initial theme and they repeat the letter L.

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] / [name_f]Elise[/name_f]

I do think all 4 of your names are lovely choices, and I think they all would work with siblings too. While [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] and [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] are similar, it would come down to whether she would always be called [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], or [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_u]Penny[/name_u] or other options could be used. I love [name_f]Frances[/name_f]/[name_u]Frankie[/name_u], and love [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] but not keen on [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] is strong and lovely, though it would give you another I name. I tend to think either [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] or [name_f]Frances[/name_f].

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is my favorite. I love it with the sibset and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] is so great! To my ear, [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] shares a lot of sounds with the sibling names, so that would make me hesitate, but it’s certainly not a deal breaker if that ends up suiting her best. You have great options. Congratulations!

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is cute alongside [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] but I would suggest [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f], nickname [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], and [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]/[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] sound nice together. [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] is nice although a different style from [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] but that may not be an issue for you. I do love [name_f]Frances[/name_f] though.

[name_f]Arwen[/name_f] or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] are my favorite with your sibset!!

I love [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], and I don’t think it’s too close to [name_u]Ollie[/name_u].

I vote [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]! I don’t necessarily find [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] and [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] to be too similar, but if you think so you could call her [name_f]Nell[/name_f] or [name_f]Nella[/name_f] and still maintain the nod to your grandmother.

My top two are [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I see why you can’t choose…this is a great list! [name_f]Isla[/name_f] & [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] are lovely names too.

Here are my thoughts on the list:

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] “[name_f]Nellie[/name_f]” [name_u]Jean[/name_u] -I love this. [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] was my great grandmother, so [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] is the top of my list too. I don’t think that [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] & [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] are too close. Especially since they’re just nns. I think it’s perfect.

[name_f]Frances[/name_f] “[name_u]Frankie[/name_u]” [name_u]Jean[/name_u] -This is really pretty & smart. It’s slightly less common than [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. I’m not personally a huge fan of [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]. It’s one of those names that seems too masculine for a boy & too feminine for a girl. I do love [name_f]Franny[/name_f] & [name_f]Francie[/name_f] though.

[name_f]Arwen[/name_f] “[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]” [name_f]Frances[/name_f] - This is really beautiful. It’s the most unique from your list, & [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is so so cute.

[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] - [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] is a nice name, but it’s really over done (especially if you add in all of the Isabellas). Also, it’s a bit close to [name_f]Isla[/name_f]. I do love the nn Ibbi, which makes it stand out a little.

So, I’m no help at all! [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] is my favorite. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is a close second, but I love the [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] is honoring your grandma. Hopefully she’ll tell you her name when she comes out.

My whole hearted vote goes to [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]! I think [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] and [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] are ok together (I know a sibset that is [name_u]Sully[/name_u] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and they make it work just fine!) and I think [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] being shortened to [name_f]Nell[/name_f] would help if it poses a problem.

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is great

I like [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] the best

I find [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] too close to [name_f]Isla[/name_f], but don’t think [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] is too close to [name_u]Ollie[/name_u]. You could also go with [name_f]Nell[/name_f] or [name_f]Nella[/name_f] if you wanted, so there are lots of options. My vote is for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. Good luck!
