anyone?
I much prefer [name_f]Liv[/name_f] as a stand-alone name; she is gorgeous and classy.
I love [name_f]Liv[/name_f] on it’s own. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Livia[/name_f]?
Thanks everyone, not such a fan of [name_f]Livia[/name_f] as i think it will always get mistaken for [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
You seem to prefer [name_f]Liv[/name_f] to [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], so that is my choice for you. Another name to consider is [name_f]Olive[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Liv[/name_f] is sweet on its own, but I prefer [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and that way you can use both names. Unless you don’t want to use [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], then [name_f]Liv[/name_f] is fine as it is.
thanks, just a bit concerned [name_f]Liv[/name_f] isn’t recognisable enough as a stand alone name?
I agree that you seem to prefer [name_f]Liv[/name_f], which is honestly lovely just as it is! I’ve had the [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] vs. [name_f]Liv[/name_f] war; [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is a family name, and I’ve been a fan of [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] for eons. But I always come back to [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], because it’s used in my favorite Shakespearean play (Twelfth [name_m]Night[/name_m]!), and it’s closer to family name [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. [name_f]Liv[/name_f] and “life” is absolutely lovely, but I also love that [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] reminds me of olive branches and peace and the Mount of Olives. Not sure where you are (the “S” in “recognisable” makes me think you’re outside of the US), but just [name_f]Liv[/name_f]'s been gaining traction here in the US, and it’s a Scandinavian name in its own right. If you love just [name_f]Liv[/name_f], I’d use just [name_f]Liv[/name_f]! It’s so lovely, and pairs with so many romantic, beautiful names so well.
Good luck!
I usually say go for the longer name, not the nickname, but in this case, [name_f]Liv[/name_f] is her own stand-alone name with quite a lovely meaning. It’s kind of how I feel about [name_f]Eve[/name_f]: I prefer [name_f]Eve[/name_f], its sound, meaning, and simplicity, much more than any longer names that I’d use with the nickname [name_f]Eve[/name_f], like [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] or [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].
I prefer just [name_f]Liv[/name_f], I think it’s short, sweet and fun, also a little fresher than [name_f]Olivia[/name_f].
She may get “is it short for anything?” from time to time but she’d also get that if she were nicknamed [name_f]Liv[/name_f], the answer to that question would simply be different.
I love how chic [name_f]Liv[/name_f] is.
