Was recently reminded of this name and I think it’s super cool and has some really nice associations for me… but I always put it back on the shelf because I can’t think of any viable nicknames for him. If you met a [name_u]Livingston[/name_u], what would you hope his nickname was? [name_f]Liv[/name_f] seems obvious but I love it way too much for a girl (likewise, I guess I could force Lev/Levi… but I really love [name_f]Liv[/name_f] for a girl!). I guess maybe [name_m]Stone[/name_m], but I’m not the hugest fan of that either. Wondering if there’s something I’m missing here?
Thanks berries!

I agree that [name_f]Liv[/name_f] is the most obvious, but I also prefer it for a girl.
I think [name_u]Tony[/name_u] could be a viable option! [name_u]Or[/name_u] maybe [name_u]Sonny[/name_u], [name_u]Lonnie[/name_u], or [name_f]Lin[/name_f]? None are strikingly obvious but I don’t think they’re too stretchy either. (And thinking more about it I’m especially loving the idea of [name_u]Lonnie[/name_u]
So sweet)

Thanks girl! I’m not a huge [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] or [name_u]Lonnie[/name_u] fan for a boy, but I was wondering about [name_u]Livingston[/name_u] nn [name_u]Lonnie[/name_u] as I finished posting. Shame I don’t like it more. [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] would’ve worked brilliantly for a girl, too - shame I don’t like surnames on girls

[name_u]Ivy[/name_u] would totally work too! I’m trying to think of more options for you but coming up blank
Getting more stretchy, maybe you could get away with [name_u]Vaughn[/name_u] (Von?) or [name_m]Vince[/name_m]?

Honestly, [name_m]Stone[/name_m] maybe for a nickname? or [name_m]Irving[/name_m]? [name_m]Tonnie[/name_m]? [name_m]Ving[/name_m]? Reaching a little but possibly?

[name_u]Livingston[/name_u] is cool, I’d personally use [name_u]Levi[/name_u] as a nn…
What about [name_m]Wellington[/name_m] nn [name_m]Wells[/name_m]?

[name_u]Levi[/name_u] was my first thought but I see you’re not too sold on it, so, my second thought was [name_m]Vince[/name_m]! A little stretchy but I think it works!

That is an interesting one, I could see
[name_m]Stan[/name_m]
Irv/Irving
[name_u]Levi[/name_u] (pronounced Leh-vee)
[name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_u]Vinny[/name_u] or [name_u]Lonnie[/name_u]
[name_u]Or[/name_u] choose a middle as a nickname
[name_u]Livingston[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_u]Livingston[/name_u] [name_u]Charles[/name_u]
Etc
[name_u]Or[/name_u] you could always place [name_u]Livingston[/name_u] in the middle spot. It is a nice name for an adult but a bit heavy on a 5 year old in my opinion, for what it’s worth.

I really like [name_u]Livingston[/name_u] but in agreement that I can’t think of an appealing nickname so rather than risk him ending up being called something I don’t like, I would only consider it for the middle spot.

[name_f]My[/name_f] recent naming preoccupation is masculine full names with feminine-leaning nicknames, so I really love the idea of [name_f]Livi[/name_f] or [name_f]Linny[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_u]Livingston[/name_u], also maybe [name_u]Lonny[/name_u], [name_u]Iggy[/name_u], or [name_u]Gilly[/name_u]?

Honestly I am about at this point. Some have suggested some nns I don’t hate (Leo, Leon, Gilly) but they seem like pretty big stretches to me, and I’d rather just do Leon, Leo, or Gilbert “Gilly” if I wanted one of those nicknames. It’s nice in theory but maybe I’ll just keep him in mind as a middle as I’m revamping my list.
Thanks girl. It’s not that I’m not sold on it… I just think it’s a little tricky. I already have a nephew named Ol!ver, and Olivia/Livia is one of my very favorite names… I do love Levi and Lev but it just seems like too much Liv’s and Lev’s and Levi’s for my comfort lol. I do love Levi but I feel like maybe it’s just better to reserve Levi as a middle.
Wellington doesn’t have the same cool associations for me, so I wouldn’t really compare the two in my head, but I do love Wells! Honestly, if I wanted Wells, I’d just use Wells, though.
