Liza & Edna

What do you think?
Short & strong
Rare but familiar
With a touch of wacky grandma

Honest opinions appreciated
thoughts on mn?

I personally [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Edna[/name]! It was my great-grandmother’s name and it’s really grown on me recently. I don’t know if I could pull it off for fn, but it definitely has mn potential for me. I have, however, seen a lot of negative comments on [name]Edna[/name] online, (not necessarily on this forum.) So I’m not sure how well received it would be.

While I guess [name]Liza[/name] is also an older name, it really doesn’t have the same granny feel that [name]Edna[/name] does. I do really like both names. I feel that [name]Liza[/name] is more usable than [name]Edna[/name].

I love [name]Edna[/name], it reminds me of the poet [name]Edna[/name] St. [name]Vincent[/name] [name]Millay[/name]. [name]Liza[/name] is also pretty, but not as charming as [name]Edna[/name].

I’m so glad I’m not the only person who finds [name]Edna[/name] charming! [name]Liza[/name] and [name]Edna[/name] don’t have the same feel to me, however. I agree that both are short and strong, but where I live [name]Liza[/name] is a common nickname for [name]Elizabeth[/name]. [name]Edna[/name] has the wacky grandma feel, but [name]Liza[/name] has a peppy teenager feel.

[name]Ive[/name] been waiting for [name]Edna[/name] too come back. I was not brave enought to use it after my beloved grandmother , we did use [name]Beatrice[/name] for the other GMa and half my family doesn’t like it too old lady to them. I totally see the appeal to names of their era.
I really like [name]Edna[/name] and [name]Beatrice[/name] together
Never liked [name]Liza[/name] or [name]Eliza[/name] very much but nothing wrong with them.
[name]Edna[/name] could also go by [name]Edie[/name]

I think [name]Liza[/name] Minelli gives it that theatrical wacky flair that sets [name]Liza[/name] apart from [name]Eliza[/name] or [name]Elizabeth[/name].

I think [name]Etta[/name] will get more popular on the coattails of [name]Ella[/name] [name]Emma[/name] ect & that will make [name]Edna[/name] more usable…maybe even Twilight/[name]Edward[/name] will help it feel usable? I think [name]Edda[/name] is really wearable.

[name]How[/name] about [name]Myra[/name]…is this wacky gma/big eyeglasses/theatrical to you?

I also [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] but it has a different vibe…kind of move serious & sophisticated. Maybe a [name]Beatrice[/name] just seems more glam/less wacky.

I truly adore [name]Liza[/name]. Apart from [name]Bettina[/name] (my daughter’s name), I think that [name]Liza[/name] is my favorite [name]Elizabeth[/name] variation. She’s so classy, but just a tiny bit quirky.

I’m a huge fan of “old lady” names, but [name]Edna[/name] has yet to charm me. I’d be willing to give her a chance - maybe she’ll join my list with [name]Agatha[/name], [name]Enid[/name] and [name]Jean[/name] someday.

[name]Agatha[/name] isn’t for me but [name]Enid[/name] is pretty awesome…I think I remember a brainy [name]Enid[/name] in the Sweet [name]Valley[/name] High book series and [name]Enid[/name] is also the main character in a graphic novel. [name]Jean[/name] & [name]Joan[/name] are favorites of mine.

I could see [name]Enid[/name] fitting into this wacky/quirky gma list pretty well!
