Any feedback welcome! I’m looking for honest opinions and comments
In 3 months the OH will give birth to our 2nd little one, a baby boy! I’ve been thinking up names and this led to many visits to this forum, for months now and think I should just ask a wider group for opinions! That’s where this post comes in!! I am likely over thinking it!
Anyway- I’ll list my top three followed by other names that I’ve considered!

My Question: Which name do you think is best? And which do you think is most suitable?
Let me give you a bit more info on the tot and family! I am English and OH is Taiwanese so I imagine dark features, eyes, skin, hair etc. Our first LO was a girl, we named her [name_f]Meilin[/name_f] (pronounced [name_f]May[/name_f]-[name_f]Lynne[/name_f]) It’s also worth noting that the OH prefers the following 3 names: Dylan, Leo and Oscar.
Of your top 3 for boys, I think [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] is your best choice. To me, [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] and [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] share too many sounds with [name_f]Meilin[/name_f] - they’re a bit too similar for siblings, I think.
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] and [name_m]Milo[/name_m] as well, and [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is sweet. [name_m]Milo[/name_m], again, is probably a bit too close to [name_f]Meilin[/name_f], but I think [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] or [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] would be great choices.
It kind of depends on what you’re going for. [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] and [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] feel pretty popular next to [name_f]Meilin[/name_f], but then [name_f]Meilin[/name_f] is a heritage choice (plus it has some pretty popular sounds, without actually being popular itself), so I don’t really think that matters too much. [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] and [name_m]Harold[/name_m] are much more distinctive, so if you’d rather not meet too many other little ones with your son’s name, you might be better off going with one of those.
I only have two suggestions for you, which I think strike the “sweet spot” between familiar/popular/sweet and unusual/old-fashioned/slightly stodgy, which are the two styles you seem to have going on here. They are: [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] and [name_u]Stanley[/name_u]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] either of those appeal? Personally, I love the idea of [name_f]Meilin[/name_f] and [name_u]Stanley[/name_u]!

Overall. Names I prefer seem to have either a single or double syllable NN - [name_m]Sid[/name_m], Dil, [name_u]Cal[/name_u]/[name_m]Cale[/name_m].
Your suggestion of [name_u]Stanley[/name_u] is a good one, it does fit the style of name I am looking for. I must say however that I have thought about this name and decided against it. I have added a suggestions section on my original post and included [name_u]Stanley[/name_u]! It will help others perceive the name-style
I’ve got a lot of time to decide and must say my personal favourite is [name_u]Sidney[/name_u]. Though I am taking an interest in [name_m]Caleb[/name_m]. [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] was my favourite, until I was told, and unfortunately so, that my 2nd cousin has that name!
I think [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] is great. I also like that both of you ranked it in your top 3! [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] and [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] would both be nice.
So [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] is one of your faves & also OH’s (which means what??) but you don’t want to use it because of a 2nd cousin? Are you close to your 2nd cousins? I would just use it if you like it.
With your daughter’s name, I like [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], and [name_m]Milo[/name_m]. They’re a bit more spunky and unusual than the others, just like [name_f]Meilin[/name_f].
