Loa (for a boy)

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like it?

Secondly, may you have any middle name suggestions to go with it?

Many thanks

I personally don’t love it (mostly because it has no nicknames) but I think it’s usable. I probably would assume that a [name_f]Loa[/name_f] was female but I wouldn’t be surprised to hear he was a boy.
I’d use a traditionally masculine and well-known middle name like [name_f]Loa[/name_f] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_f]Loa[/name_f] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] etc.

I like it and would assume, or wonder, if you had a personal connection to [name_m]Hawaii[/name_m]. It just sounds like it would have originated in [name_m]Hawaii[/name_m]. I’m not sure what style of middle you are looking for and so many would sound nice. Suggestions…

[name_f]Loa[/name_f] [name_u]Easton[/name_u]
[name_f]Loa[/name_f] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_f]Loa[/name_f] [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]
[name_f]Loa[/name_f] [name_m]Magnus[/name_m]
[name_f]Loa[/name_f] [name_u]Tate[/name_u]
[name_f]Loa[/name_f] [name_m]Nash[/name_m]
[name_f]Loa[/name_f] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]

Thank you very much

It is of Hawaiian/Tongan origin and perhaps seems a more obvious choice for a girl but I spoke to a Hawaiian native who said they had actually only heard it on a boy, but liked it for both (as do I)!

My husband and I got married in [name_m]Hawaii[/name_m] and it is a very special place for us. There is also a volcano there called “[name_f]Loa[/name_f]”.

We also like bird/nature names and the [name_f]Loa[/name_f] is a bird in Iceland where it is known as the “[name_f]Spring[/name_f] bird” as it’s appearance signifies that the [name_f]Spring[/name_f] is coming.

P.s I am especially liking [name_f]Loa[/name_f] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] ([name_f]Canada[/name_f]) is also a special place for us!

[name_f]Loa[/name_f] [name_u]Carter[/name_u] would actually be very special as [name_u]Carter[/name_u] is a family name

I find it too feminine for a boy, sorry! It’s fresh and light for a girl though

I’m not a fan. Sounds like [name_f]Lola[/name_f] to me.

I only know [name_f]Loa[/name_f] as a girls’ name, so I’d need some time to get used to it being used on a boy. But I think it could work. If [name_f]Noa/name_f works, then why not [name_f]Loa[/name_f]? It would certainly be brave though. I do love that it has a special meaning for you.
