Lola and Lolla -

When I read [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Lolla[/name_f] I pronouance them the same way LO-Luh. [name_f]Do[/name_f] others read and pronouance them differently?

I read [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as LO-lah but [name_f]Lolla[/name_f] as Lahl-lah (Like Lollapolooza minus the “polooza”)

I definitely prefer the first spelling.

[name_f]Lola[/name_f] is pronounced Low-lah. [name_f]Lolla[/name_f] is pronounced Loll(rhymes with “doll”)-ah.

This.

I see different pronunciations.

Same as the others. I do know of a [name_f]Lolly[/name_f] who is in her 60s. Southern woman, I think her given name is [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. Actually several of the women I know through work (mainly older couples from all over the states but lots of native southerners) have very diminutive nicknames like that. It’s kinda fun to hear them!
But yep, lola = low-la, lolla = “lohl-la”

Yep, agree with everyone above. Loll to rhyme with doll, not dole.

[name_f]Lolla[/name_f] seems like someone is slurring [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. For some reason it seems more L-heavy, even though it’s the same amount of sounds.
