We welcomed our second child into the world a few weeks back on [name_f]April[/name_f] 8th: [name_m]Walter[/name_m] [name_m]Renato[/name_m], little brother to enthusiastic big sister, [name_f]Emmaline[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f], was named with both family ties and spiritual/sentimental meanings in mind (as was his sister). His first name was chosen with a much-beloved great-uncle in mind, but we also just loved the name! Classic, strong, gentlemanly. Not trendy or popular. And oh so literary! The Breaking Bad connection was unfortunate, but not a dealbreaker. So as soon as we found out I was pregnant, we knew [name_m]Walter[/name_m] would be our choice if baby was a boy.
The origin of his middle name began with my love of the Italian language. I studied abroad in Tuscany multiple times and then lived there for awhile before my husband and I got married. [name_m]Renato[/name_m] is an old Italian name which means “reborn,” and since our little guy was due right at [name_f]Easter[/name_f] time - and at the height of spring’s bloom at its best - we felt no other name could be as meaningful to us on either a spiritual or aesthetic level. As Christians, [name_f]Easter[/name_f] is a time to celebrate the new life we have in [name_m]Christ[/name_m]. As warm-weather lovers, the new, green, freshness of spring is the time of year we long for all winter long!
Coincidentally, when we brought [name_m]Walter[/name_m] home from the hospital, every single bush, tree, and flowering plant had burst into bloom while we were away … it was as if [name_m]Walter[/name_m] had brought spring with him upon his arrival!
We could not be happier with our choice. Or our sibset!
