Long I sound - girls

See my post for boys for a few thoughts on this.
Basically I think the I sound is trending up.

  • = name that is trending up, - = a name that is not or is falling, ? = I am not sure.

What am I forgetting? What did I get wrong?
The trend looks stronger for boys, I think!

[name]Love[/name], love, love seeing [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] up there, and [name]Briony[/name], too, although I prefer the [name]Bryony[/name] spelling. I love [name]Iris[/name], [name]Ivy[/name], and [name]Lila[/name], as well, and I quite like [name]Dinah[/name]. The only one I wouldn’t include is [name]Carolina[/name]–as a name, generally, it’s said care-oh-[name]LEE[/name]-nah, not care-oh-[name]LINE[/name]-ah.

There’s all the -aia names, too–[name]Maya[/name], [name]Amaya[/name], [name]Alaia[/name], [name]Kaia[/name], [name]Soraya[/name], [name]Aya[/name], etc. And [name]Ayelet[/name]! And I suppose, in a way, [name]Anais[/name]–it’s more ah-nah-EES, but when I say it out loud, it comes out more like ah-nye-ees.

Thanks [name]Ash[/name] for reminding me of some other spellings!
The only [name]Carolina[/name] I’ve known said it like the state, so maybe it depends on where you live / chance of who you know?
I was thinking of [name]Anais[/name], I’ll add it up - it’s kind of like [name]Naomi[/name] in that regard.
