[name]Annabelle[/name]- sweet and feminine. I prefer the more streamlined [name]Annabel[/name].
[name]Georgia[/name]- always brings to mind the state, but in an exotic Southern belle way
[name]Katherine[/name]- can’t go wrong with a classic!
[name]Charlotte[/name]- same as [name]Katherine[/name]
Like:
[name]Hayley[/name]- spunky and modern. the name of one of my favourite singers, [name]Hayley[/name] Westenra
[name]Emma[/name]- I want to like this more than I actually do… pretty but grounded and has history
[name]Laura[/name]- sweet but seems a bit juvenile somehow… even though I know adult Lauras who’ve worn it fine
[name]Olivia[/name]- growing on me
[name]Petra[/name]- I love the connection with the historical site but can’t help but think of tennis player [name]Petra[/name] Kvitova
Dislike, sorry:
[name]Jessica[/name]- I know so many!
[name]Jade[/name]- sounds a bit slimy for some reason
[name]Tessa[/name]- the strong S sound makes it really hissy
[name]Stephanie[/name]- sounds kind of snobby
[name]Natalie[/name]- doesn’t sound strong to me
[name]Xanthe[/name]- the pronounciation always throws me off
[name]Briar[/name]- it sounds like it’s trying to be sugary sweet but fails and comes off masculine (if that makes sense?)
[name]Amanda[/name]- maybe it’s the word “man” in the middle that makes it sound not so feminine
[name]Melissa[/name]- again, the hissy strong S

[name]Melissa[/name] - Ditto [name]Amanda[/name].
[name]Don[/name]'t Like:
[name]Hayley[/name] - It’s ok, but I don’t like how there’s 100 different spellings, it feels very trendy. What about [name]Hadley[/name] or [name]Halle[/name]?
[name]Jade[/name] - I just don’t really like gem names as firsts, but they work well in the middle ([name]Jade[/name] and [name]Pearl[/name] especially).
[name]Stephanie[/name] - I’ve never liked this name sorry.
[name]Petra[/name] - Very harsh sounding to me.
[name]Briar[/name] - Too Disney, and it means thorny…

Like:
[name]Hayley[/name] - It does seem a bit dated to me. Nevertheless, it is a very nice girls’ name.
[name]Jessica[/name] - Again, this one seems dated to me. I don’t dislike it, but it’s not a personal favorite of mine. It is a classic girls’ name though.
[name]Jade[/name] - Pretty and spunky. I myself prefer [name]Jane[/name], but [name]Jade[/name] is a quirky and cute alternative.
[name]Laura[/name] - Perhaps a bit plain, [name]Laura[/name] doesn’t top the list for me. I personally prefer [name]Lauren[/name] or [name]Lorelei[/name]. Still a feminine and pretty name though.
[name]Olivia[/name] - I personally dislike this name, but it’s a nice choice for a girl, even though it is exceptionally popular.
[name]Stephanie[/name] - Another “dated” name. I’ve always had a soft spot for [name]Stephanie[/name], though. It’s very pretty and feminine.
[name]Annabelle[/name] - Though not a personal favorite of mine, [name]Annabelle[/name] is a lovely name.
[name]Georgia[/name] - I’m not especially keen on place names. But [name]Georgia[/name] is very sweet and spunky.
[name]Amanda[/name] - Another “dated” name. Still pretty, though.
[name]Melissa[/name] - Again, dated. Pretty, though not my personal favorite.
Dislike:
[name]Xanthe[/name] - I think this name would encounter a lot of pronunciation and spelling issues.
[name]Petra[/name] - I see the appeal of [name]Petra[/name] as a guilty pleasure, but I just don’t think it has enough potential in this day and age.
[name]Briar[/name] - I have to agree with [name]Julia[/name] [name]Johanna[/name]'s comment. Plus, this name has always seemed unfeminine to me.
[name]Hayley[/name] - Not a fan, besides its being dated.
[name]Emma[/name] - It’s cute but not exciting.
[name]Jessica[/name] - I think it’s a classic. The nickname [name]Jess[/name] is cute.
[name]Jade[/name] - Eh. Boring to me.
[name]Laura[/name] - Pretty, but perhaps bland.
[name]Tessa[/name] - I much prefer [name]Tess[/name]. [name]Tessa[/name] seems too syrupy.
[name]Olivia[/name] - Cute but boring.
[name]Stephanie[/name] - Eh. I don’t like this name at all. It just has an unattractive sound to me.
[name]Natalie[/name] - It’s alright. A bit prissy, but still pretty.
[name]Annabelle[/name] - I much prefer the spelling [name]Annabel[/name] (which is lovely). [name]Annabelle[/name] seems over-the-top.
[name]Georgia[/name] - [name]Love[/name]. Classic and lush.
[name]Xanthe[/name] - It’s alright.
[name]Katherine[/name] - I love this name. Can’t go wrong. Classic and elegant.
[name]Petra[/name] - I like this. It has spunk and elegance.
[name]Briar[/name] - It just seems kind of harsh.
[name]Charlotte[/name] - Pretty and classy.
[name]Amanda[/name] - It’s cute and warm. I like it.
[name]Melissa[/name] - Washed up [name]IMO[/name].
[name]Hayley[/name]- I agree with [name]Julia[/name] [name]Johanna[/name]. This name will soon go out of style. [name]Halle[/name] is a better choice.
[name]Emma[/name]- Cute, but extremely popular.
[name]Jessica[/name]- I think [name]Jessamyn[/name] would be better. [name]Jade[/name]- [name]Love[/name] this name! [name]Laura[/name]- Very pretty and classy. [name]Tessa[/name]- Gorgeous!
[name]Olivia[/name]- I am kinda sick of hearing it. It seems like every other girl is named [name]Olivia[/name], and none of them are very nice.
[name]Stephanie[/name]- Has a beautiful sound, but isn’t very classy. [name]Natalie[/name]- [name]Lovely[/name]! [name]Annabelle[/name]- I love this name! This spelling seems much fuller and luscious than [name]Annabel[/name]/[name]Anabelle[/name]/[name]Anabel[/name]/etc. [name]Love[/name] it.
[name]Georgia[/name]- I think [name]Georgiana[/name] is much prettier, but that’s just me.
[name]Xanthe[/name]- Cool, but I think a kid has to be extremely outgoing to make it work. It may be difficult if your daughter is an introvert. [name]Katherine[/name]- So gorgeous and classic!
[name]Petra[/name]- Petrified. [name]Briar[/name]- I think it’s lovely! [name]Charlotte[/name]- So cute! I love the nn [name]Lottie[/name].
[name]Amanda[/name]- So many Amandas…
[name]Melissa[/name] - Very dated.
[name]Hayley[/name] - I have an aversion to names with too many y’s. [name]Hailey[/name] looks better to me. Very trendy.
[name]Emma[/name] - popular but a sweet classic
[name]Jessica[/name] - a dated name from the 70’s and 80’s
[name]Jade[/name] - Trendy and downmarket
[name]Laura[/name] - an ancient [name]Roman[/name] name but I prefer [name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name] - Too frilly for me. I prefer just [name]Tess[/name] because I love the [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Hardy[/name] literary connection.
[name]Olivia[/name] - a pretty but overused classic
[name]Stephanie[/name] - dated name that was trendy in the 80’s
[name]Natalie[/name] - OK but popular. A “new classic” name.
[name]Annabelle[/name] - Frilly and feminine, I prefer the more streamlined [name]Annabel[/name].
[name]Georgia[/name] - Lush, spunky and sassy.
[name]Xanthe[/name] - pretty and exotic.
[name]Katherine[/name] - classic and timeless but I do prefer the French spelling [name]Catherine[/name].
[name]Petra[/name] - See [name]Xanthe[/name]
[name]Briar[/name] - I don’t see the attraction of this nature name. Very harsh. [name]Briony[/name]/[name]Bryony[/name] sounds softer.
[name]Charlotte[/name] - elegant and ladylike. [name]Love[/name] it.
[name]Amanda[/name] - Dated from the 70’s and 80’s.
[name]Melissa[/name] - Dated from the 70’s and 80’s. [name]Melissa[/name] could be [name]Jessica[/name] and [name]Amanda[/name]'s sister.
I’ve bolded the ones I particularly like.
[name]Hayley[/name] - there are way too many variations of this name
[name]Emma[/name] - not a bad classic; short and sweet, yet strong
[name]Jessica[/name] - a little too 90s for me
[name]Jade[/name] - I’m not very fond of word names, and this one sounds sharp, almost like a blade [name]Laura[/name] - love this soft-sounding yet sturdy classic
[name]Tessa[/name] - prefer [name]Tressa[/name] or [name]Theresa[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name] - This has all the pretty letter sounds and flow - no wonder it’s so popular
[name]Stephanie[/name] - seems dated
[name]Natalie[/name] - ditto
[name]Annabelle[/name] - pretty, though I love long names and prefer [name]Annabella[/name]. Or [name]Annamaria[/name]. [name]Georgia[/name] - another favorite! Ladylike and proper, yet spunky.
[name]Xanthe[/name] - never been a fan
[name]Katherine[/name] - love this one, though mostly for its versatile nickname ability
[name]Petra[/name] - definitely not a fan - sounds like the name of a pet rock
[name]Briar[/name] - will always be a briar patch to me
[name]Charlotte[/name] - I like [name]Lottie[/name], but [name]Char[/name]/[name]Charlie[/name] isn’t my favorite sound
[name]Amanda[/name] - there are more modern, interesting ways to get [name]Amy[/name] ([name]Amelia[/name], Amythest)
[name]Melissa[/name] - isn’t bad, but isn’t unique
Hayley- There’s nothing wrong with Hayley, its just nms.
Emma- Nice, a classic, but it feels plain to me.
Jessica- Dated where I live, rather bland
Jade- I used to really like Jade but then Jade started sounding like the name of a “not so wholesome girl” or tacky… I wouldn’t want Jade to be the next Crystal. Aside from Pearl, I dislike gem names.
Laura- I’ve Never liked Laura, I have no idea why.
Tessa- LOVE
Olivia- Very pretty, but just like Emma it feels plain most likely because it is so frequently heard.
Stephanie-Nms, but its cute. Somewhat dated though.
Natalie- There’s something about Natalie that makes Natalie always feel fresh and chic in any generation!
Annabelle- I prefer Annabel
Georgia- Pretty
Xanthe- In real life I imagine that Xanthe would run into quite a few prn issues
Katherine- Solid classic
Petra- I’ve always imagined a Petra as sharp and firey
Briar- I don’t really see the appeal
Charlotte- LOVE but so popular
Amanda- Dated, but nice
Melissa- Dated
Love:
Tessa
Charlotte
Annabel(le)
Like:
Natalie
Georgia
Katherine
Ok but wouldn’t use:
Emma
Olivia
Jade
Dislike:
Melissa
Amanda
Hayley
Stephanie
Jessica
Laura
Petra
Xanthe
Briar
[name]Love[/name]:
[name]Hayley[/name] – It IS dated, but I don’t think that anyone would question it today. Prefer the spellings [name]Hailey[/name] and [name]Haley[/name] though!
[name]Natalie[/name] – Beautiful, but really popular.
[name]Laura[/name] – A beautiful classic that still evokes images of an adorable baby. Have you considered [name]Laurel[/name]?
[name]Annabelle[/name] – Would definitely be on my list if it wasn’t for my negative fiancé!
Like:
[name]Stephanie[/name] – I think this one is TOO dated to make its comeback, yet.
[name]Jade[/name] – Would only use this as a middle, I don’t think its substantial enough to be a first; beautiful though
[name]Charlotte[/name] – [name]Way[/name] too popular
[name]Katherine[/name] – I like this as a middle option, little boring as a first
[name]Emma[/name] – Cute, but boring
[name]Olivia[/name] – A little more exciting than [name]Emma[/name], but still too popular to really catch my attention
[name]Tessa[/name] – Never liked this until my roommate decided to name a future baby [name]Tess[/name]. From then on it evoked the image of a put together, strong, intellectual little girl.
Dislike:
[name]Jessica[/name] – This is dated in such a way that I would question a baby born with it today. Yes it is my name and I [name]LOVE[/name] it, but would not love it on a 2013+ baby
[name]Melissa[/name] – Ditto with [name]Jessica[/name]
[name]Xanthe[/name] – Compared to your list, this is really out of place. Anyways, I don’t find it feminine or pretty at all
[name]Petra[/name] – Masculine and ugly
[name]Amanda[/name] – A little too dated and a little too plain
[name]Georgia[/name] – Very stereotypically southern sounding
[name]Briar[/name] – I knew a [name]Briar[/name] (I think it was Bryer or something similar though) who was constantly called “Bryer Sheet” and made fun of cause of the ice cream
[name]Hayley[/name] - Use to be a trendy name, but I think its popularity is starting to wane. Reminds me of [name]Hayley[/name] Westenra, which has boosted its status for me.
[name]Emma[/name] - Almost too classic, and it’s kind of “farm girl” to me. (not too bad, just an image I get)
[name]Jessica[/name] - Well on its way to being a classic, though I personally think it’s just okay.
[name]Jade[/name] - kind of like as a middle name, but I [not-so-secretly] like it on a boy.
[name]Laura[/name] - classy, solid, and reliable. I kind of like it.
[name]Tessa[/name] - Not fond of this one; sounds too fussy to me.
[name]Olivia[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like any of the potential nicknames, except for maybe [name]Ollie[/name].
[name]Stephanie[/name] - Meh, take it or leave it. It almost seems boring.
[name]Natalie[/name] - My name! I like it a fair amount, but I don’t like how the T usually is said as a D.
[name]Annabelle[/name] - Sweet name. I prefer it to the choppy-looking [name]Annabel[/name].
[name]Georgia[/name] - Very proper sounding, but has the potential to bring about lots of colorful character.
[name]Xanthe[/name] - For as much as people are gushing over it, I could never get behind it. It seems too pretentious or contrived to be wearable.
[name]Katherine[/name] - A good “can’t go wrong with that” type name, without being too boring.
[name]Petra[/name] - Exotic and interesting, but still sounds approachable.
[name]Briar[/name] - another one of those fussy names.
[name]Charlotte[/name] - beautiful classic! Highly versatile and stylish without being overbearing. Popularity aside, I must say this one is sure to become one of my favorites soon.
[name]Amanda[/name] - the fact the ‘man’ part is where the emphasis lies when saying it aloud is a bit of a turn-off, but I had a very dear friend as a kid named [name]Amanda[/name], so it has special meaning to me.
[name]Melissa[/name] - I like how sunny and friendly it sounds, but I can’t see myself using it.
[name]Xanthe[/name] is the stand out name on the list, it’s uncommon and just beautiful.
I like; [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Annabelle[/name] (prefer sp. [name]Annabel[/name]) and [name]Briar[/name] although the first two are way too popular here in the UK.
[name]Hayley[/name], [name]Emma[/name], [name]Jessica[/name], [name]Jade[/name], [name]Laura[/name], [name]Stephanie[/name], [name]Natalie[/name], [name]Katherine[/name], [name]Amanda[/name] and [name]Melissa[/name] are so dated.
[name]Olivia[/name] is pretty but way too common.
I don’t like [name]Petra[/name], and while I can see the appeal of [name]Tessa[/name], it is too nicknamey for me.
[name]Hayley[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like, bad association that’s all
[name]Emma[/name] - I like [name]Emma[/name] and I like all the follow-ons from her eg. [name]Emily[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name].
[name]Jessica[/name] - Well its my own name, so I am kind of keen on it haha. I like its nn options and it also has great history in regards to being used by [name]William[/name] [name]Shakespeare[/name] in his play The Merchant of [name]Venice[/name], up until then it had been unheard of.
[name]Jade[/name] - [name]Jade[/name] feels a bit cheap to me. I don’t know why.
[name]Laura[/name] - I really like [name]Laura[/name] and [name]Lorelei[/name] as well. A lot of Berries like [name]Laurel[/name], but it just gives me the skeevies!
[name]Tessa[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] THIS!
[name]Olivia[/name] - Bad association again
[name]Stephanie[/name] - Its okay, nothing exciting.
[name]Natalie[/name] - I love this name!
[name]Annabelle[/name] - So pretty!
[name]Georgia[/name] - I really like this!
[name]Xanthe[/name] - Like it, but would worry about pronounciation issues.
[name]Katherine[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this too!
[name]Petra[/name] - I love this, especially due to the character in [name]John[/name] [name]Wyndham[/name]'s The Chrysalids!
[name]Briar[/name] - Like it, but would probably only ever use it as a middle name.
[name]Charlotte[/name] - She is really growing on me, she sounds so sweet.
[name]Amanda[/name] - It’s okay.
[name]Melissa[/name] - As this.
faves: [name]Xanthe[/name], [name]Briar[/name]-pretty and unexpected
like very much: [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Katherine[/name]
ok with:[name]Emma[/name], [name]Petra[/name], [name]Tessa[/name], [name]Olivia[/name] and [name]Annabella[/name]
not a fan of : [name]Jessica[/name], [name]Amanda[/name], [name]Hayley[/name], [name]Laura[/name], [name]Stephanie[/name], [name]Natalie[/name], [name]Jade[/name]
[name]Love[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name] – gorgeous, opersonal fav of mine so a bit biased. But It’s sweet and NN tess is just great
[name]Georgia[/name] – Sophisticated choice
[name]Charlotte[/name] – Stylish. another feminization that I prefer to the male (both [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name])
[name]Xanthe[/name] – I love this, but I could see pron. difficulties arising
Like
[name]Olivia[/name] – while very pretty, becoming very popular.
[name]Laura[/name] – sweet but feels slightly dated.
[name]Hayley[/name] – cute, feels very 90s to me.
[name]Stephanie[/name] – nice but, also a dated feel stuck to it I’m afraid
[name]Katherine[/name] – I personally prefer C spelling but plethora of NN makes it a lovely choice all the same.
[name]Annabelle[/name] – sweet name but this spelling looks too forced for me.
Dislike
[name]Jessica[/name] – VERY 90s feel. NN [name]Jess[/name] is cute though
[name]Jade[/name] – never been too keen on this one
[name]Emma[/name] – I don’t feel this one ages too wel
[name]Natalie[/name] – prefer natalia
[name]Petra[/name] – not too keen
[name]Briar[/name] - meaning would throw me off
[name]Amanda[/name] – never been a fan of this one
[name]Melissa[/name] – NN [name]Missy[/name] throws me off.
[name]Hayley[/name] - It’s ok. There’s way too many spellings of it though.
[name]Emma[/name] - A nice name, although a little plain
[name]Jessica[/name] - Again, seems a little plain
[name]Jade[/name] - I used to love it, now it seems tacky to me
[name]Laura[/name] - Plain name, i prefer [name]Lauren[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name] name
[name]Olivia[/name] - Very pretty name, but overused
[name]Stephanie[/name] - dated
[name]Natalie[/name] - dated
[name]Annabelle[/name] - [name]One[/name] of my favourites
[name]Georgia[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name], classic
[name]Xanthe[/name] - Cute name, not one i would use myself though
[name]Katherine[/name] - Never been a fan
[name]Petra[/name] - A bit sharp sounding to me
[name]Briar[/name] - not a fan
[name]Charlotte[/name] - Such a lovely name! [name]Love[/name] the nn [name]Lottie[/name] too
[name]Amanda[/name] - dated
[name]Melissa[/name] - dated
[name]Love[/name]/Like:
[name]Hayley[/name]: Prefer the traditional spelling of [name]Hailey[/name]. Adding the extra y makes it too tryndy/uneek for my liking. I like the name otherwise. [name]Don[/name]'t love it, but it is a good name.
[name]Emma[/name]: I really loved this name before it became super popular. I still like it though.
[name]Jessica[/name]: I like this name. It was popular when I was growing up, but I still think it is pretty. [name]Love[/name] the nn [name]Jess[/name].
[name]Jade[/name]: The only [name]Jade[/name] name I like. I really dislike [name]Jaden[/name], [name]Jada[/name] and all their variants.
[name]Laura[/name]: Not really a huge fan, in fact I prefer [name]Lauren[/name], but there is nothing wrong with the name [name]Laura[/name]. Its feminine, pretty and classic.
[name]Tessa[/name]: I know a Chihuahua named [name]Tessa[/name], so it kind of ruined it for me. Otherwise I would probably like it. Its spunky and sweet sounding.
[name]Olivia[/name]: Classic and elegant sounding. Too popular at the moment for my liking. It is the #1 baby girl name where I live.
[name]Georgia[/name]: Surprisingly, I love this name. Feminine, but not overly so. Feels substantial.
[name]Xanthe[/name]: I love this name pronounced ex-AHN-theh or [name]ZAN[/name]-theh. [name]Don[/name]'t like it pronounced [name]Zan[/name]-thee, even though I think it might be closer to the actual pronunciation.
[name]Katherine[/name]: As long as the nickname [name]Kathy[/name] isn’t used, I love [name]Katherine[/name]. I prefer it spelled with a C though. The Ks are too trendy for my liking.
[name]Petra[/name]: I like the sound of this name.
[name]Briar[/name]: I like the sound of this name, and I like nature names. Not a huge fan of the thorny meaning behind it.
[name]Charlotte[/name]: Not my favoritte, but nothing wrong with it. Like the nn [name]Charlie[/name].
[name]Melissa[/name]: Wasn’t going to put this name on the like list, but I loved this name so much as a little girl, I decided to add it!
Dislike:
[name]Amanda[/name]: A little dated. Doesn’t have a pleasant sound. The [name]Man[/name] and the Duh part of the names don’t inspire nice things for a woman/girl.
[name]Stephanie[/name]: I have HATED this name for so long. [name]Way[/name] too popular when I was growing up. Didn’t even like it then. Hate the nn [name]Steph[/name].
[name]Natalie[/name]: Probably my least favorite name of all time. Super super popular while I was growing up and every single [name]Natalie[/name] I knew (and I know a lot of them) go by the nickname [name]Nat[/name], which is bland and sounds like gnat. Ick.
[name]Annabelle[/name]: I used to use this name to tease my friend [name]Anne[/name]. I can’t see it as a serious name.
[name]Hayley[/name]- Eh…
[name]Emma[/name]- I’ve always liked [name]Emma[/name], but it’s so common…and I’m not one for common names.
[name]Jessica[/name]- meh.
[name]Jade[/name]- I like it and I don’t…I think with a longer, soft, middle name, it could be great. I know a VERY cute little girl named [name]Jade[/name]!
[name]Laura[/name]- like.
[name]Tessa[/name]- I like [name]Tessa[/name] and [name]Tess[/name], [name]Tess[/name] was almost my name, but my dad vetoed it.
[name]Olivia[/name]- It’s okay.
[name]Stephanie[/name]-
[name]Natalie[/name]- I’ve always thought it was pretty.
[name]Annabelle[/name]- This name always reminds me of some kind of farm animal (no offense people who like this name!!)
[name]Georgia[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name] this name.
[name]Xanthe[/name]- I really like it, but you’d run into pronunciation problems all the time I think.
[name]Kathrine[/name]- Pretty.
[name]Petra[/name]- I [name]LOVE[/name] names that end with “-tra”. My daughter’s name is Setra, and I know a Kitra, which I love too…but for some reason I’m not a fan of [name]Petra[/name]…I think it’s because I just don’t like names that begin with P. I have yet to find a P name I like. And it’s kind of like Petrol? I don’t know…
[name]Briar[/name]- [name]Love[/name]. It’s different and not common, but not totally out there.
[name]Charlotte[/name]- Too common for my taste.
[name]Amanda[/name] and [name]Melissa[/name] are both names I’ve never liked.
