Long list of nothing wonderful and 4 days to go!

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_f]Violette[/name_f]? [name_f]Louisette[/name_f]?

I love your list and think you have some great choices (maybe because 95% of those names are on mine as well!). I think that [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is a good choice for a softer V name. Have you considered [name_f]Sabina[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Sabine[/name_f]? Another berry commented that there are a lot of Sophies around, but I am a [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and I have only met one other one in my life (and I’m the only other [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] she knows), having lived in different parts of the US and traveled to Europe fairly often. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is the #1 or #2 ranked female name right now so you hear that very often, but I find them to be completely different names.

Anyway—what about [name_f]Camille[/name_f], [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f]/[name_f]Eulalia[/name_f], [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Layla[/name_f], [name_f]Nala[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], [name_f]Mayra[/name_f], [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Mirabella[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], [name_f]Madelaine[/name_f], [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]? [name_f]Leonore[/name_f]/[name_f]Leonora[/name_f] or [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]?

Of your 3 favorites (*), does your husband like any? To me that would be the name!!

I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] off your list. I think they sound good with your boys names also. Could use them together too, [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Maya[/name_f] or [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. Good luck!! I have a C-section scheduled for this Friday!!!

I wonder if you like [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] or [name_f]Marcelle[/name_f]? It is [name_m]French[/name_m] and gives your husband the “[name_f]Elle[/name_f]” Nickname

[name_f]Marcella[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] would be nice or [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f].

I think a lot of your names are nice, especially [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]. If you want another idea, I feel like [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [loo-see-ah] would fit well with your style; also you had said you like L’s and S’s.

I apologize if someone has suggested [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] already; I haven’t read the entire post.

I love the suggestion of [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] as a way to get to “[name_f]Elle[/name_f]!”

You have received a lot of great feedback on the names on your original list. Since you are looking for additional ideas, I will just go ahead and list some I can think of…a random mix…will try to avoid repeats…

[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] (I thought maybe you would like this because you like Biblical names and you mentioned [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] – could call her Zannah)
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (could also get [name_f]Elle[/name_f] from it)
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]

[name_f]Aurelie[/name_f] really like this. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] nn [name_u]Rory[/name_u] or [name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] this is quite common now especially [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] so wouldn’t be my pick
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. I like these how about [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] which is a bit more off the radar or I think I prefer [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and it’s long versions [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]. What about [name_f]Cerise[/name_f] or [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]/[name_f]Celia[/name_f]/[name_f]Cecily[/name_f].
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] I’m not fussed on this. Prefer [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] or [name_f]Norah[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]. Middle?
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] love this and [name_f]Lara[/name_f]
[name_f]Mia[/name_f] cute and short
[name_f]Sabine[/name_f] this is nice you seem to like [name_m]French[/name_m] names how about [name_f]Adele[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] love this and [name_f]Vianne[/name_f]! What about [name_f]Violet[/name_f]?

A very good friend of my fiance is called [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] and it’s gorgeous, I’d consider it for a future child if we didn’t already have one so close! Her name is pronounced uh-rayl-yuh so it’s never made me think of orally. The only drawback (for me) is that she often goes by [name_u]Ray[/name_u] which isn’t my favorite nn in the world. I also love [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] from your list. [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] is nice too but I like [name_f]Sabina[/name_f] better myself.

Thanks for all the additional suggestions.
Schedz - good luck with the c/s on Friday!
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] - Good to know that you haven’t met many Sophies. I know a few kids, though two are 8 and one is 4, so hopefully the popularity is dying down a little. Clearly [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] is more popular, but definitely different in my mind too - I prefer [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. And I’m thinking, would I rather a less popular name that I love less or a popular name that I will be calling my child happily for the rest of her life?

For all those who prefer [name_f]Aurelie[/name_f] - I love this version too - but only if pronounced with a [name_m]French[/name_m] accent - and I know that is just not going to happen realistically. Maybe as a middle if I don’t go with [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband wants [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] partially b/c it was his grandmother’s name (or at least, that is where we got it, trying to think of names), even though he was probably closer with his other grandmother, [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]. I figured an E name could be fine too - but we really didn’t name our other kids after anyone, so this is not essential. But I don’t think I’d pick another name just to get the “[name_f]Elle[/name_f]”.

I have considered [name_f]Sabina[/name_f] but I have a cousin [name_f]Sabina[/name_f] so I’m not sure about using it. I love her so it wouldn’t be a bad thing :). I love [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] more, but I can see how [name_f]Sabina[/name_f] is cuter and more user friendly. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband has a cousin [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] which would be in our heads if we named her [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], although I do like the name too.

I’m glad to know there are some Aurelias out there! I met one when I was a kid, but none since then. I too wouldn’t be so happy with [name_u]Ray[/name_u]. Maybe she’d be [name_f]Lia[/name_f] or [name_f]Aura[/name_f] or maybe people would just use her whole name? Or maybe the middle name would have a better nickname if she really wants a nickname.

Okay, guess I need to put these to the test w/my hubby! Thanks again!

[name_f]Aurelie[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Elle[/name_f]’ [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]?

I have a [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and love the name-we call her [name_u]Jules[/name_u] for short. I also love [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]-though [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is very popular now.

I love [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] so I would definitely encourage you to use it. It’s been one of my favourites for awhile. What about [name_f]Viola[/name_f]? Or [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]? I really do love [name_f]Claire[/name_f]/[name_f]Clara[/name_f] as well.

If it’s any consolation, it just seems to be what her circle of friends call her from time to time rather than one of those nns that becomes the constant appellation over the full name (like my brother [name_u]Tony[/name_u] that no one has ever called [name_m]Anthony[/name_m], ever).

Elliotte or any variation to have [name_f]Elle[/name_f] as nn.
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is pretty.
[name_f]Sabrina[/name_f] or [name_f]Sabina[/name_f].

Best to you.

What about [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]? It reminds me of [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and you could use the nickname [name_f]Evie[/name_f]?

I like:

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]
[name_f]Sabine[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]

Suggestions:

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]
[name_f]Vienna[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Sabina[/name_f] (prefer this to [name_f]Sabine[/name_f])
[name_f]Liana[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f]/[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f]
[name_f]Janna[/name_f]
[name_f]Elora[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]
[name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] n [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f]/[name_f]Clara[/name_f], and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] from your list. Maybe [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]? Btw, I don’t think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is harsh at all

From your list i love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]; it’s my #1 for a future daughter.

I also really love [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] is a lovely classic name.
I’m with you on [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] sounding harsh, but i think it’s oh so pretty.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Dania[/name_f] (Dahn-ya) or Darielle ([name_f]Dari[/name_f]-elle)?
Others: [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Lenore[/name_f], or [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Sabine[/name_f] (pronounced as Sah been ah) very much. I like [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] but she is a little over the top for me, however, I think that [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is quite lovely. [name_u]Unique[/name_u], feminine and has a beautiful lilting quality.

I look forward to seeing the Birth Announcement here on NB.
