I’ve posted a couple other times…thanks for your continued efforts!!! We have [name]Addison[/name] who goes mostly by [name]Addie[/name] and are due in early [name]April[/name] with baby girl number 2…still on the hunt for the perfect name… Currently, I’m drawn to the nickname [name]Maisie[/name]…but prefer longer names that can be shortened…We’ve thought of [name]Mason[/name] and I think [name]Margaret[/name] is another way to get to [name]Maisie[/name]…Any other suggestions out there?? Thanks in advance!
[name]Margaret[/name] and [name]Marguerite[/name] are all I can think of right now. But I wouldn’t use [name]Mason[/name], it’s so masculine. Especially next to [name]Addison[/name] I think [name]Mason[/name] would be mistaken for a boy.
I love [name]Margaret[/name] and [name]Marguerite[/name]!
I also know a [name]Mairead[/name] (muh-raid) who goes by the nn [name]Maisie[/name]
I love the name [name]Maisie[/name]. Our second daughter is due in [name]June[/name], and I would love to use that as a name, but it would be too close to her older sister, [name]Millie[/name]. [name]Maisie[/name] is traditionally a nn for [name]Margaret[/name]. That’s what I would name her if I could use that name.
I also like longer names with cute nn. And we are also considering the name “[name]Addie[/name],” so clearly we have similar tastes.
Aww very cool whimsybea!! We love how well the name [name]Addison[/name] [name]Renee[/name] fits our little [name]Addie[/name] bug!! While some people here on nameberry aren’t big fans of [name]Addison[/name] (for whatever reason) we’ve gotten nothing but compliments on her name!! Now I just need to find the right fit for our second little princess!! We love the nickname [name]Maisie[/name]…I’m not head over heels in love with [name]Margaret[/name], but maybe it will grow on me…Other names we’re considering are [name]Reagan[/name] (although [name]Rae[/name] isn’t that appealing as a nn) [name]Peyton[/name] (althought SO popular right now) [name]Delaney[/name] w/nn [name]Lainey[/name], [name]Bellamy[/name] w/nn [name]Ella[/name] or [name]Ellie[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name] w/nn [name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Ellison[/name] w/nn [name]Ellie[/name] (Although very close to [name]Addison[/name]) So we’ll see…its harder this go round for sure!!
[name]Mae[/name]/[name]May[/name] (okay not longer, but you could call her [name]Maisie[/name])
[name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Esme[/name] (Es-may)
I love [name]Maisie[/name]! Good choice. I agree there must be fresher route of arriving at that destination than [name]Margaret[/name]. And then [name]Margaret[/name] and [name]Addison[/name] aren’t a great match even though [name]Addie[/name] and [name]Maisie[/name] are.
As [name]Maisie[/name] is a diminutive of [name]Mary[/name] or [name]Margaret[/name], you should definitely run through these lists to see if anything clicks.

What do you think of [name]Margot[/name], [name]Marketa[/name], [name]Manon[/name], [name]Manette[/name], Marsca, [name]Marenka[/name], [name]Mariel[/name], [name]Mariska[/name], [name]Mashenka[/name], or [name]Miriam[/name]?
I like the idea of [name]Marin[/name] ([name]California[/name] pronounciation) or [name]Marina[/name]. I think these are fine with [name]Addison[/name].
I have been experimenting with the idea of getting from [name]Magnolia[/name] to [name]Maisie[/name], but even if you decided to try that leap, I think this, flamboyant and all Southern belle, is not a good sib for [name]Addison[/name]. You might want to look at other last name first to see if you could find one with a little more pizazz than [name]Mason[/name]. Then there is [name]Malachy[/name] – a boys’ name. Not that that matters now.
